Docs Outside the Box

I was super optimistic and hopeful when I made my appointment with Docs Outside the Box. Scheduling was easy and I explained on that call that I have some complex medical issues and was looking for some one to “help me put the pieces together” and was told “that is exactly what we do here.” It was explained to me that my first appointment would be an hour with a nurse practitioner and that I would have the ability to schedule a longer and more in depth appointment at a later date. I had all of my health documentation and lab work and was ready to discuss what I was dealing with. The NP, Ashley, barely looked at me during the appointment and was not interested in any of the documentation I brought in. She spent most of the appointment looking and typing at the computer and finally stopped to listen to me as I was crying for a few minutes and then was back to the computer. There was another person present in the room, maybe someone in training, she was a bit more engaged in what I was saying. Before I knew it, Ashely was giving me instructions on what we were going to do and the prescriptions/supplements I was supposed to start. I maybe spent 30 minutes and felt rushed out. I had concerns that I voiced multiple times as the protocol she was going to start me on was contraindicated with a couple of my conditions. I was assured by Ashley that it would be fine. I was not fine and have still not fully recovered after taking one dose of the supplement. I reached out the next day and was told to hold onto the supplement as I would need it later in my treatment. After the reaction that I had, I let them know I would not be continuing with that protocol. My biggest issue is that, how are they supposed to help me put the pieces together, if they aren’t even willing to look at the pieces. It seems like they have a couple of standard protocols they use and it doesn’t matter if your health issues contradict that. I reached out a 2nd time on the portal expressing my concerns and did not hear anything back. I waited a week for a response and decided that the silence was a response, so I cancelled my next appointment. I wish I would have paid attention to the negative reviews on google and yelp. It would have saved me $250 and 3 months and counting of stomach issues.

Docs Outside the Box has been such a blessing. As someone who has a decades-long history of being gaslit by dozens of doctors, it was a breath of fresh air to find a group of medical professionals that sees the value in listening to their patients & using their knowledge of both traditional and holistic medicine. Even better - they take most insurance!! The services and kindness that Docs Outside the Box offers is incredibly hard to find out there. I’m so grateful for them!

My son has been going to this doctor's office for 6 years and the hospitality improves every year. They make sure that the kids stay busy with some type of learning or play such as puzzles or toys. They make sure the tell you thank you and Dr Amed calls and check on him to make sure treatment is working. Thank you Dr Julia for caring and having staff that feels like family.
