I know many people have had positive experiences with Dr. Gies, which is why I chose to work with her after a breast cancer diagnosis in July 2024. I was looking for a provider who could offer holistic guidance through a very vulnerable time. While I appreciated her functional approach and the kindness of her office staff, our time together ultimately wasn’t the right fit for me. Over the course of a year, I struggled with a lack of continuity and clarity in my care. Appointments often felt disconnected, and despite following her supplement plan closely for almost a year, I didn’t see the progress I had hoped for. When I brought up questions about my lab results, the conversation became unexpectedly tense, which left me feeling unheard and dismissed during a time when I needed support most. That said, I recognize that every patient-provider relationship is different. Dr. Gies may be a great match for others, but my experience left me feeling uncertain and unsupported. I share this with the hope that it helps others make the choice that’s best for their care journey.

I have had an extremely positive experience as a patient of Avant Wellness. I appreciate Dr. Gies' comprehensive and strategic approach. Unlike so many other practitioners I've seen, she has stuck with me to identify the root causes of my complex health issues. The rest of the team is also wonderful - the nutritionist is awesome and super helpful in ensuring I understand the treatment plan and am supported, and the office staff is also on top of it. I feel well cared for and have experienced positive results. I highly recommend this practice!

I have been a patient with Dr. Gies for two years. I went to her after being wheeled around for months to various top doctors from the top medical schools in the country. These "top doctors" were all scratching their chins, unable to figure out my case. Dr. Gies took the challenge. Between her and her extended network, they were able to properly diagnose exactly what was going on and quite literally saved my life - nothing short of miraculous. She is easily the most brilliant doctor I've worked with and I couldn't ask for a better quarterback to be running plays to better my health. Don't let this quaint little office in Chicago fool you - Dr. Gies and her staff punch way above their weight class when it comes to giving patients the care they need that no one else can.
