Admin and back office function is horrible and unorganized. Makes you book appointments just to charge insurance when not needed for basic non opioid refills.
I have a small balance and have been calling for 3 weeks and leaving messages to pay and not receiving any return calls.

I wanted to write a special review for Dr. Murtaza who has been instrumental in my pain management over the last year. Initially I was worried to invest time to see a specialist after struggling with lower back pain, but I was immediately at ease. Dr. Murtaza is empathetic, patient and incredibly helpful. He helped me find several lasting solutions for my pain that have helped me understand my back and whole body better. He created a treatment plan that I was comfortable with and helped me continue getting relief by encouraging me to go to physical therapy as well as acupuncture treatments. I am so grateful for what he does, his PA Jessica and assistant Samantha. Thanks to the whole team!

I saw both Dr. Murtaza and Dr. Shoeb after suffering from neck and shoulder pain for almost a year. I tried everything to get rid of the pain-- from frequent visits to the chiropractor, massages, acupuncture, TENS units, etc., but nothing seemed to help. My chiropractor finally referred me to Metropolitan Institute of Pain and I feel like a new person! When Dr. Murtaza wasn't available for a follow-up visit, I saw Dr. Shoeb. Both doctor's are so caring and sat down with me to create a step-by-step plan to treat the pain. I finally received an injection for the pain (which I was terrified of at first since I have a phobia of needles), but it was such a quick procedure and felt just like an acupuncture needle. I didn't think I would ever be pain free. My day-to-day life has drastically improved, so trust me, don't wait a whole year like I did to get properly treated!

I thought I was required to go here because this specific clinic was covered by workers comp. They just wanted to sell injections, not give actual care. Dr. told me they would "do some PT so workers comp will approve the injections."
The lady I was working with did acupuncture and cupping and nothing else for 5 visits. She told me that she decided not to be a doctor because she didn't want to take anatomy. What?!
I kept asking about manual manipulation, stretches and exercises, and the answer was always "next time." The last time I went, she went on a racist rant so I asked an attorney I know who told me I could go anywhere, I wasn't restricted to this clinic, so I changed to a better doctor and never went back.
This place is the pits. Also, judging from the paperwork I saw on myself, I wouldn't be surprised if they were violating HIPAA pretty much daily.
I have seen vast improvement with my new doc, with zero injections!

Stay Away. Monica, who handles insurance, does not know how to deal with approval issues, refuses to take accountability, and does not return phone calls. I was strung along for over 2 months saying that they can't figure out my insurance approvals, and all the while they never would call me back so I had to continuously check in every week. During those 2 months they had me do other therapies that did not require the pre-approval, but booked me with the wrong treatment and also had to cancel one of my appointments because the doctor could not make it. I went elsewhere, and after getting a refreshed referral, I didn't have an insurance issue and so I will move forward. They wasted 2 months of my time and prolonged my misery with no treatment or care. It's a shame the staff is so incompetent here, because the Dr. is quite good.
