Revive Integrative Health - Functional Medicine

I came to Revive Integrative Health after experiencing severe joint pain for several months that was unexplained by any of the physicians I was seeing. I went from being an active long-distance runner and weight lifter to barely being able to get out of bed in the morning. I could not sit for long periods of time without pain and I was up all night in pain. I was told that my labs were all normal so there is likely nothing wrong with me. It was recommended by my group of doctors that I should take more Aleve, and consider adding a biologic such as Humira - though without much confidence this would help and putting me at risk for loads of side effects. It was also recommended that I schedule surgeries on several of my joints. At that time, I was referred to Dr. Confer by a friend - but was honestly skeptical that much could help. However, out of desperation, I was willing to try anything. As a nurse practitioner specializing in cancer care for the last 20 years, I was not sure that supplements, diet, and alternative therapies would be my answer. However, from my very first call to the lovely receptionist, I felt welcome and understood. From there, my first visit with Dr. Confer was eye opening. Despite my nursing background, Dr. Confer approached my labs in a way that I had never fully understood. No other physicians had educated me on what is "normal" vs what is functional. Dr. Confer leans into educating patients and wants to ensure I understand the path I am on. She remembers small details that I mention from visit to visit, and truly cares to make me whole again. Her dietician Sam has also been such a gift to me, and completely helped me to overhaul my diet. She took such a personalized approach to my special needs without judgement. She made changes that fit into my life and made my diet manageable. At our first visit, Dr. Confer thought that after 6 weeks I would feel better. After just 4 weeks, I can confidently say that I am almost back to the person I was before my symptoms began. I am running again with joy (without joint pain!) and looking forward to my life again. I am forever grateful for finding this practice and would recommend without reservation.

After years and years of feeling unheard by other doctors, working with Dr. Confer truly changed my life. She actually listened, got to the root cause of what was going on, and addressed my issues in a really thoughtful, methodical way instead of just treating symptoms. I never felt rushed or dismissed. She was in regular contact, answered all of my questions, and supported me the entire way through the process. Sam, the nutritionist, was also amazing. I’m now two months into my process with Revive, and I can honestly say that you don’t realize how bad you felt until you finally feel really really good. It’s only been 8 weeks and even so, looking back, I have no idea how I managed before. With Dr. Confer and Samantha, I’ve never felt more supported, more educated, or more confident that someone truly has a vested interest in making the next decades of my life the healthiest I’ve ever lived. When it comes to cost, it’s negligible compared to the value. Some parts of my care may be covered by insurance, and I was able to use my FSA for the rest. In the end, it costs about the same as a typical general medical visit plus any nutraceuticals tailored to my plan, but the level of care, access for questions, and attention, is on another level. Dr. Confer and Samantha use a practical, easy-to-understand approach that makes change feel achievable. They: Take time to explain, clearly and patiently, how everything in the body works together. Not just once but over and over to reinforce the “why” I feel what I do and the solutions moving forward. Run comprehensive testing to get real data. Enormously helpful that these tests are done at a lab where all prices are discounted as a patient of Revive. Use that data to create a deeply curated, highly focused, and carefully monitored plan watching and monitoring all aspects with near real time access to them as needed with no hassle. I’m stunned by that fact alone. The weekly appointments are the key to my success and can be easily switched to video virtual as needed with literally no guilt or judgment. Total transparency, it took me about 9 days to find my rhythm but Samantha was amazing in getting me really rolling and now the process from the moment that I wake to the moment I go to bed feels natural and not forced. Driven by the way I feel and the desire to maintain it. Supported the whole way. So, I’m ready for the next phase and genuinely excited to continue working with these incredible co-stewards of my health. I can say that they’ve already dramatically improved the quality of my life and have educated me on how to sustain this way. It’s only been two months and even so, they’ve earned my respect, total cooperation, trust, and my sincere gratitude.
