This is the best place in town hands down for mental health. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like family. The receptionists are always a delight, helpful and a joy to talk to. Getting a reminder call about my appointments makes my day when talking to them. You can't forget about the nurses. They are always so pleasant, kind, caring, respectful and present in the moment. You can tell they really care about their patients here and it shows in the interactions with them. The services they provide here have changed my life around for the better with the support of the whole KMHM team. It is truly an amazing place and I would recommend anyone struggling with mental health to come here and no where else.

The WORST mental health clinic I’ve ever been to. I wish I could give negative stars, as even 1 feels too generous. If you enjoy being talked down to, having your trauma dismissed, and being asked wildly sexual questions that no other provider asks, then by all means, book an appointment with Lucas at Kansas Mental Health Medicine. Not that you may even have a choice, as I specifically requested a FEMALE due to past trauma and even waited longer for one. Instead, when I ARRIVED, I was handed off to Lucas without warning. Candra, the provider I was scheduled with, didn’t even speak to me about it. Just stayed in the back without even acknowledging the patient she was supposed to see. And the entire appointment with Lucas was one of the most unprofessional and distressing experiences I’ve had. My husband was in the room, witnessed everything, and was equally stunned. I would NEVER in a million years recommend Lucas or this clinic. Strongly advise anyone seeking care here to find somewhere else. As my new provider at a different practice has treated me with so much love and compassion. Which I highly doubt Lucas is capable of doing.

I feel incredibly lucky to have been referred to Lucas Kirchoff for my mental health needs. He has a calming bedside manner and is very thorough in his evaluation of your mental status. By adjusting the medications I had been taking Lucas helped me go from feeling depressed and hopeless back to enjoying life. One of the meds I was taking was causing involuntary movements and an overall feeling of restlessness at all hours. One simple change made a world of difference in how I feel. Lucas has my total respect and admiration for the changes he made in my life in a very short time. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a mental health professional that is not just competent, but also very caring. Thank you, Lucas for making a difference in my life!
