I had done quite a bit of research on using Orthobiologics to improve joint function & improve comfort levels from the arthritis I have in both of my knees It was preventing me from participating in my walking group activities & playing golf. Having had a number of unrelated surgeries & health issues over the last 4 years I was not interested in having 2 total knee replacements & the down time for PT & recovery. I wanted to get back to living a more active lifestyle. I am now 5 weeks out from my last injection treatment & the response has been great. My pain levels have decreased dramatically, I no longer feel & hear the bone on bone grinding when I squat , the swelling has decreased, I can walk longer distances w/ less discomfort. Although not @ 100% I expect further improvement over the next six months. Drew Etskovitch PA-C who performed the procedures is experienced & knowledgable She coached me through what to expect with a minimum of discomfort. If you’re looking for an alternative do your due diligence, ask questions & talk with others who have had this done.

Dr. Hartshorn is awesome! Saw him for a 3rd degree torn ligament a week after an emergency room visit. He carefully explained everything including provided a virtual view, and did an additional X-ray to make sure the pain I was having in another area of the leg was not anything needing extra attention. Follow up after a month went well also. Very nice office staff and environment!

I went to Dr. Hartshorn at OrthoBoston for a 2nd opinion last year when I tore my ACL. The first doctor at a different clinic brushed off my MRI because my knee was only buckling “a few times”. He declined surgery and wanted me on 800mg advil 3x/day with physical therapy. Even still, I had been in pain for about 2.5 months. Dr. Hartshorn’s team scheduled a consult almost immediately. He walked me through my MRI results with a comprehensive explanation of what an ACL should look like, and what mine looked like. He treated me with compassion and respect every step of the way. He went through alternative options and thoroughly explained the potential risks of surgery. (He also gave me free vacation advice about Turks and Caicos!) Dr. Hartshorn did a phenomenal surgery with minimal incisions. here I am, 12 months later, and 100% pain free. I could not imagine getting back on the ski slopes this upcoming winter without him. Also, BIG shoutout to Kristine (if you’re reading this, hi!), she’s amazing as well. Made sure I got all my medical clearance paperwork to be excused from work in record time. Even if you live a distance away, please consider this practice. The right surgeon makes all the difference. Thank you OrthoBoston for everything!
