Michigan
Comparing chelation therapy options across Michigan, expect most offices to cluster around Detroit, with a smaller concentration around Grand Rapids. Coverage thins sharply in mid-Michigan, the northern Lower Peninsula, and especially the Upper Peninsula, so residents there should expect real travel, and some may find Ohio, Indiana, or Wisconsin closer. Confirm a clinic's exact address and hours before planning any trip rather than assuming one metro's description applies statewide.
Chelating agents are prescription drugs, so a Michigan-licensed clinician with prescribing authority must order and supervise treatment, whether the office presents as a medical practice or a wellness center. That generally means a physician, osteopathic physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner working within their license's required collaboration, overseeing the infusion in a physician office or infusion suite. Michigan has no chelation-specific rule beyond that general licensing framework, so the same federal prescribing and professional scope of practice rules that apply nationally apply here.
To check a provider's license in Michigan, use the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, whose verification search covers the Board of Medicine, the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, and the Board of Nursing. A search confirms whether a credential is active and shows public disciplinary history, but it will not tell you whether chelation suits your situation.
Before booking in Michigan, ask who holds prescribing authority, what agent is used, and how the clinic discloses risks such as kidney strain or shifts in blood minerals in writing. Ask what happens if treatment does not help, and request a written quote separating assessment, medication, administration, lab monitoring, and follow-up. Chelation outside a documented medical emergency is usually cash pay, and many searched-for uses lack FDA approval or strong evidence.
The order clinics appear in below is organic and is not for sale on Regenerated.com. Featured placements are clearly labeled and limited in number, and a Verified badge reflects completed credential checks rather than anything a clinic has paid. Using this directory costs patients nothing, and a clinic's presence in the list is not an endorsement of its services.
For how chelation therapy works and what the evidence supports across different uses, see the national chelation therapy hub. For more on how to use this directory, read How to read a Regenerated city hub and Featured vs Verified vs organic.
Regulatory context
The FDA has approved a narrow set of chelating agents for specific heavy metal toxicities. Calcium disodium edetate (CaNa2EDTA, Versenate) is approved for symptomatic lead poisoning, succimer (Chemet, DMSA) for pediatric lead poisoning at blood lead levels above 45 mcg/dL, deferoxamine (Desferal) and deferasirox (Exjade) for chronic iron overload, and dimercaprol (BAL) for arsenic, gold, and acute lead poisoning. Use of EDTA chelation for cardiovascular disease was studied in the NIH-funded TACT trial (2013) with controversial findings and remains not FDA-approved for that indication. Chelation for autism spectrum disorder is not evidence-based and has been linked to pediatric deaths. The FDA issued a 2010 sweep of warning letters to compounders marketing OTC chelation products with unapproved disease claims.
The Michigan Board of Medicine and Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery have investigated chelation practitioners for marketing claims tied to autism and cardiovascular disease. Michigan does not license NDs. The Flint water crisis brought heightened public attention to lead exposure and pediatric chelation, with the state reinforcing that pediatric chelation requires confirmed elevated blood lead levels and use of the correct chelating agent. The 2005 Pittsburgh pediatric chelation death remains a reference point for safety expectations.
