I’ve had years of searching for someone who is interested in helping me find relief in my lower back. All of the staff and doctors were very knowledgeable and respectful. I’m so glad to have found a great care team! Quick and easy procedure! Dr Goetz and Lori were so friendly!

I've had back pain for over 30 years and was referred to the Pain Clinic. I first met with Lori and was so impressed with her. She reviewed my MRI with me and she made sure I understood everything. I was then sent over to Dr. Carlson for an epidural. He was very professional and answered all my questions. I can't say enough good things about him. Within 1 hour I was driving home. 3 months later I'm still pain free. Thank you

For a pain treatment center, they did not help with pain even after a 3 hour long procedure. Everyone “wants” to help but the doctors are never around to give an order. Even at the 3 day checkup there was no Doctor in the office. In the end I came for pain reduction but left with pain I did not expect. Also the stimulator does not get turned on for 2 weeks after implant, this was import information not shared with me until time of surgery. I feel the whole surgery center and office could use some empathy training and more communication with patients to all Doctors. It shouldn’t be that hard. Please open your eyes.

I am writing to share my deep dissatisfaction with the services I’ve experienced at your facility, which have directly impacted my ability to manage my health effectively and professionally.
From the outset, my interactions have been disappointing, beginning with rude and harassing phone calls from an individual named Ken regarding a bill that I had already paid in full. For context, my surgeon in 2021, along with my doctor, recommended injection therapy as a non-addictive alternative to pain medication—an option I supported. I have consistently attended physical therapy to avoid further injuries and see my primary doctor regularly. My initial experience with your center, following a referral from my primary doctor, as per my request after utilizing Northern Lights PT and it was pleasant, the first time. Unfortunately, that professionalism quickly deteriorated.
One particularly troubling incident involved a nurse who entered the room and, upon seeing me working on my phone instsnt upon opening the foor scolded me and, remarked that she could return later when I was done playing on my phone. I do not 'play' or wasting time. I run a business, and I had a deadline to finish my projects by the end of the day. I was called in early due to a cancellation fir this appointment. Despite my efforts to explain, her dismissive attitude only escalated when I politely requested not to be addressed in such a condescending manner. In retaliation, it seems, my scheduled procedure was delayed even further. As a business owner, I expect to be treated with the same respect I extend to others, especially when it comes to medical care.
Additionally, your repeated insistence on reviewing outdated MRIs every six years feels unnecessary and burdensome. The unprofessional behavior of certain nurses—snapping at patients as if we’re inconveniences—coupled with harassing calls and misinformation about insurance requirements, is inexcusable. The claim that insurance companies mandate seeing your Physician Assistant (PA) first is misleading. If that were true, providers such as Blue Cross Blue Shield would have no issue paying for services without complications. I have even received a refund check for overpayment, which further highlights inefficiencies in your billing practices.
Your actions reflect poorly not only on your center but also on associated facilities like the Bismarck Surgical Center, which unfairly bears the brunt of patient frustration originating from your mismanagement. Moving forward, I have decided to pursue treatments, such as IV injections, through my primary doctor’s alternative practice—even if they are not covered by insurance. The stress and lack of professionalism I’ve endured from your staff are simply unacceptable.
As a healthcare provider, you have an obligation to prioritize patient care and uphold professionalism. I strongly urge you to address these issues within your staff, processes, and communication to ensure others do not experience the same unacceptable treatment. DO BETTER THAN THIS BIS SURGICAL CENTER!!
