Dr Thomas repaired my 91 year old mother’s torn meniscus and smoothed the osteoarthritis. The surgery went well and quickly. He called to check on her at seven o’clock in the evening. He has a wonderful personality with his patients, and everyone in the office is very nice and helpful.
The only criticism is the wait in the office prior to the appointments. Worth having the patience!
Wife had minor surgery 2 x from Dr Thomas and all went well.
We went in yesterday for a consult with Dr. Thomas, which went very well. The staff seemed very pleasant and easy to work with and waited about 10 minutes.
Beautiful office and facilities inside and out .
Jesus loves you

First of all I would like to say that Dr Donald Pennington is one of the best Orthopedic doctors in the Las Vegas valley. This review is not a direct reflection of him or any other Orthopedic doctors in this same complex. Also the Surgical Arts Center in this building is Tops! The Best! The Physical Therapy department in this same complex is a Joke! I went in for my first appointment and the assistant told showed me how to start the first exercise, then I didn’t see her again for 15 minutes. The place was not even busy, only a few people and she was in the back visiting with a co-worker. Then the doctor Jim came out, and I was impressed at first because he was very friendly but then he was more interested in showing me pictures of his new home in the Reno area than he was in treating me. In fact, he pretty much did nothing for me, then at the end, asked me to lay down on the table where I felt captive to more nonsense about how he landed this great job in Reno and he’s so excited about his move and new job. He was supposed to be checking me for knee motion, after no help or explanation during treatment, but then he got alerted that he had to go move his car. I said don’t worry we’ll do this some other time. Totally Worthless Appointment! I called and canceled all my future appointments.
Not a fan of this practice. I came here via a referral to get my shoulder check. They ask to do an x-ray, of which I provided, but said it wasn't what they want to see. At the end, it's the exact same thing, but of course, it's not free.
Every time I come, the wait is a good 90 minutes to 2 hours. I have no idea why even though it was an appointment to begin with, not a walk-in.
Lastly, they ask me to do an MRI to clearly see what's wrong with my shoulder, of which, I did. Then I have to go back again for the doctor to tell me in less than a minute what the issue was. The sad part is, the wait is 2 hours and the conversation with the doctor is basically one minute, something he could have easily just call to tell me. But going in helps them make more money. Could have easily save a patient's time and money with a 1 minute phone call.
I just think this practice is too greedy. The wait is crazy and they keep charging you for things you may not need. I'd recommend going elsewhere, my honest opinion. Won't be coming back. Even after insurance, they keep charging me more saying my insurance didn't cover certain things. If I knew that from the start, I wouldn't even do the MRI. Was told the insurance is covering everything except the deductible, turns out to not be the case.

I've had several surgeries performed at Thomas, Pennington & Limtong Orthopedics & Sports Medicine facility (formerly Thomas & Bigler Knee & Shoulder Institute) for knee and shoulder surgeries. My most recent surgery was performed by Dr. Justin Limtong and I have to say he's very personable (with great bedside manners). I was totally impressed with how well he followed up with me after the surgery. I never found myself having to wait to speak with my doctor. My most recent surgery was to perform a full knee replacement. Both this surgery and previous shoulder surgery have increased the usage and functionality of my shoulder and knee. I have been able to work and exercise without any pain in those areas, basically improving my overall quality of life. It's nice to finally not to rely on braces or canes. Not only are the physicians, personable, but the whole staff is professional and friendly; not once did I find myself being put on hold while having to endure some terrible hold music (you know the type of music that increases your blood pressure). This orthopedics and sports facility not only has great Doctors and support staff, they additionally have an outstanding physical therapy team on site as well (please pass my props to Dr. James, Dr Russell, and Jill as well as all their staff; you all rock and were the difference in my quick recovery). I am 100% satisfied with the medical services provided by Thomas, Pennington and Limgton Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and would highly recommend them. With great physicians, an onsite surgical ward as well as on-site physical therapy service, you have access to the full range of Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
