I want to sincerely thank each of you for the outstanding care you provided during my back surgery.
The surgery went great, and I truly feel 100 times better. Dr. Harvell, your skill and precision have made a tremendous difference in my quality of life. I am deeply grateful for your expertise and the excellent outcome.
Mark, thank you for your calm and reassuring presence as you administered anesthesia. In a moment that requires complete trust, I felt completely safe in your care.
To the nurses and staff, thank you for your professionalism, kindness, and attention throughout the entire process. From pre-op to recovery, I was treated with compassion and respect.
Because of my experience, I would confidently recommend anyone needing neurosurgical care to come see you. The level of professionalism and teamwork you provide is truly exceptional.
With sincere gratitude,
Jody Wight

I have no I Idea what happened. Everything was great. My Neck surgery went great (so far) Dr. Harwell and his team seemed to be responsive and care. Not long after the surgery in 2023, the whole place just fell off. Scheduling is a nightmare,No one follows through with any referrals leaving the patient to coordinate most imaging, pt or any other type of out of office procedures not done by them. I gave them almost 5 years. The last two years have been the worst. I had to seek care from another specialist. Maybe they just had too many patients. THE STAFF NEEDS TO GO! I HAD A SPINAL FLUID LEAK AFTER A PROCEDURE. NO ONE CONTACTED ME TO HELP AFTER COUNTLESS ATTEMPTS TO GET ANY HELP. I ENDED UP IN THE ER AFTER A WEEK OF NOTHING. ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND MULTIPLE CALLS AND YET, NOTHING. DO NOT GO HERE! I do not take narcotic pain medication or require it, so do not think this is just someone mad about not getting pain pills. This has been a multi year venture with a cervical fusion. Please heed my advice. Edit, Yes my calls were returned. But only after I asked for the board of directors number. All of the sudden. The calls and emails started flying in. So, it took 3 weeks, rattling cages and posting a google review to get a response. I will say the same thing I said to Dr. Harwell and your office manager Dari. "I have no interest in or time for rehashing a week of my life defined by pain and fear. My only hope now is that this ordeal leads to actual systemic changes so nobody else has to experience what I did" (John Oakley.)

Dr. Harwell is the best surgeon I have encountered being I have had 3 neck surgeries and 7 back surgeries in the last 37 years being I have had a few surgeons. Dr. Harwell has done one neck surgery and also removed the battery that was for a stimulator cord I currently have in my back. He is very compassionate in what he does and explains everything without leaving any questions. I highly recommend him for whether it's your back or neck or both. I will actually be contacting his office in the near future for further information on my back.

6 month follow up review for Dr. Harwell and his team.
1:Keep the right mindset
2:My faith is in God and he walked me right through this surgery.
3: Know EVERYONE there LOVES what they do!
Day of surgery, June 12th at 5 A.M.. weight: 158 lbs.
Today, 12/9/2025: weight 185 lbs.
My back was beyond pain, I could barely even take steps, car rides hurt for days to the point of zero sleep for most of them.
I am back to work, RUNNING with my son, playing soccer with my son, wrestling with my son, everything I was scared to death would never happen again.
I didn't choose Dr. Harwell and his team for pain pills or med refills. I chose them because I could no longer live in this pain.
They saved my life, and I will forever be grateful!
Now, for the 1 negative, which is NOT Dr. Harwell or his team. Medical insurance!!!!! Make sure your medical insurance is truly going to cover your surgery. Mine approved until the day of my surgery.
Dr. Harwell chose to save me instead and I will always be grateful, but medical insurance doesn't value life like he does. Dr. Harwell and his team deserve to be paid for services rendered, so please do your homework with medical insurance.
For the last 6 months (minus 2 days), I have slept, woken up thankful for every single day and smile, while not in pain. ZERO medicine, none. Thats how good this feels.
Thank you Dr. Harwell and team, you truly did save my life!

Literally, no exaggeration, likely saved my quality of life if not my actual life after another doctor(and to an extent my own experiences) failed me horrifically. These doctors and staff care, all of them. If I could give 100,000 stars I would! If you are on the fence just know these folks lead with compassion and education for everyone involved in medical decisions, especially the patients. Thank you all! You may be why I get to enjoy the rest of my life relatively pain and neurologically safe and free!
Edit: If it wasn’t for the nurse practitioner and the front staff woman’s unkindness and downright disregard for me as a patient I’d say 5 stars. Dr. Harwell is amazing as is Via but the experience I just had with his nurse practitioner left me in tears and hopeless enough to consider drastic measures. The man was not fully aware of his surroundings and I’ll leave it at that. As for the front staff I have had continued issues with this woman since she insisted I had staples when I did not and she has found ways to make petty jabs since or it could genuinely be she’s that incompetent either way I’m happy to discuss this with my doctor himself to attempt a resolution otherwise I’d say if you’re chronically ill it’s not worth the risk to your mental health. Because the nurse practitioner is just…..off. He made odd comments while I was hospitalized and then forgot why I was hospitalized at all. Idk something needs to be addressed here. My eyes are literally swollen from crying from this. I didn’t ask for pain meds I didn’t need them, I’m used to these levels of pain, I just needed to know if the symptoms I’ve been experiencing could be related to the CSF leak I had in October for around 2.5 weeks before treatment was given thanks to Dr. Harwell laying down the law.
