I visited Texas Orthopaedic Associates in Dallas for an injury I sustained at home. My appointment was at 1:00 PM, but I wasn’t called in until 1:20 — after several people who arrived after me were seen first.
When I was finally called in, I was assisted by Mary Angel, easily the most unprofessional person I’ve ever encountered in healthcare. I was moving slowly due to my injury and apologized multiple times, even offered to let her walk ahead, but she just scoffed and said nothing. No greeting, no introduction — just silence and attitude.
After placing me in the exam room, she left, then returned and began talking to me from the hallway about my condition. Her tone and volume were so unclear, I had to ask her to repeat herself because I genuinely didn’t know she was speaking to me. She simply barked “Calves?” from the doorway. No explanation, no context, no basic courtesy.
She then left mid-sentence to get the X-ray tech — who was actually wonderful and, shockingly, confirmed she’s heard similar complaints about Mary before. She even added, “She’s young, inexperienced, and from California,” which might explain the lack of professionalism, but certainly doesn’t excuse it.
When I returned to the room, I noticed a soiled diaper in the trash, which immediately filled the small space with a terrible odor. I asked Mary to remove the trash can. Her response? “Yeah, probably from the last patient. She had a kid. But that’s not my job.” When I asked again, she said she’d “find a janitor” and shut the door behind her, leaving me in the smell.
Eventually, I asked her to please find a different room — which clearly irritated her — and she finally brought in the office manager, who was polite and got us moved. The doctor and his assistant Allison were kind and professional, but the damage was done.
To top it off, Mary Angel was also responsible for sending in my prescription — and didn’t. I called the next morning and CVS still had nothing. The front desk confirmed Mary was supposed to handle it after my appointment.
This office is poorly managed, outdated, and clearly lacks accountability. I won’t be returning, and I’d strongly recommend others look elsewhere for care.

Dr. Champine is one of the best Orthopedic Doctor I have ever come across for this 75 yr. old woman who has had 10 back & now to him for a very painful hip my Osteoarthritis doctor tells me I need to have it replaced. He is a doctor who takes his patients concerns serious, goes through the nescessary test to find out and a no nonsense doctor who will tell it like it is to you his recommendations and why.
I like that kind of doctor.
Thank you.

Dr. Early’s office is very warming and inviting as you enter. The other people in waiting room are very friendly and helpful. It’s always a great start to the visit. He came highly recommended by my doctor. His staff is excellent, especially Maria. She is quick to respond to questions on the portal. We’ve enjoyed working through a difficult journey with Dr. Early and his staff.
