Honestly, Dr. Cara Erkut is the best doctor I’ve ever been to. She listens with genuine care, respects my concerns, and always takes time to suggest different medical solutions that truly fit my situation. Her team is professional, punctual, and makes scheduling effortless, I always get timely reminders. I’ve been to many doctors before, but none matched her level of compassion, attention, and professionalism. I’ve already seen great progress in my condition in a relatively short time, and I’m deeply grateful for her support.

Dr Erkut's assistant took my information and helped me get an appointment within a week. Dr Erkut met with me, actively listened (asking relevant questions) and helped me sort out a short-term medical plan. I felt heard and I sensed empathy, important to me when discussing these kinds of situations.

Dr Erkut abruptly terminated care for our daughter after 5 months of care with no warning. This is particularly alarming because she acknowledged that our daughter was a severe case, but then she abandoned her without a feasible plan for care in the future. She made one referral to a provider who was not accepting patients and offered no other solution. Dr Erkut terminated the care relationship with no warning and no options for refilling her prescriptions after Dr Erkut increased her doses. It may not have met the legal definition of abandonment, but it felt like it. Dr Erkut's lack of concern for her patient was the most frustrating part. The first thing I look for when I select a physician is someone who is a patient advocate, and Dr Erkut's lack of advocacy is why she gets the 1 star rating.

Do not see Dr.Erkut for psychiatric help. My daughter was under Dr.Erkuts care for a significant mental health condition, and our experience was deeply troubling. Communication was consistently difficult — it was hard to get in touch with her directly, and messages often went unanswered. Dr.Erkut abruptly terminated my daughter’s care with no warning, despite her being a severe case. She was referred to another provider who was not accepting new patients, leaving my daughter without adequate support or continuity of care. To make matters worse, medication dosages were increased across the board shortly before termination and she was then left without refills. When my daughter reached out for help, she was coldly told to go to the hospital, where they could “wean her off” the medications. This was not only irresponsible, but dangerous. What makes this even more disturbing is that this was not an isolated incident. We have since learned that other patients have been dropped without warning as well. Dr.Erkut also once expressed sympathy about how a previous provider told my daughter there were “no other options” for her —and said that was terrible. Yet, she ended up doing the exact same thing, leaving my daughter with no support or path forward. During appointments, she left the room multiple times, which felt unprofessional and disruptive. And the receptionist was consistently rude and dismissive, making the entire experience even more stressful. Mental health care should be grounded in compassion, communication, and responsibility unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

I did not want to go into psychoanalysis but I’m glad I did. I found Dr. Erkut to be very personable and easy to talk to so I had no reluctance to open up to her. But more importantly, she helped me realize what my fears are and that I was not as “crazy” as I thought I was. I have gained insight that has helped me deal with my fears effectively. I’ve haven’t felt as good as I do now in a very long time.
