Our son was seen by Dr. Amy Serin for several months as we explored options to address his lack of focus in school. After trying various approaches, neurofeedback was recommended. Because it wasn’t covered by our insurance, we elected to invest a substantial out-of-pocket amount hoping for a meaningful improvement. Initially, we felt the treatment was helping; our son appeared to respond positively. However, after numerous sessions, his focus returned to the baseline level he had before starting treatment. It seemed to us that the initial gains faded, and the overall benefit did not persist. We tried to be patient and continued attendance, but gradually we became discouraged and felt the results were not lasting. We ultimately discontinued treatment with Dr. Serin. In hindsight, we believe the time and financial investment did not yield the hoped-for long-term improvement. Seeking alternative support, we consulted our son’s school counselor and arranged an IEP, which provided more targeted attention and structure within the school setting. This approach seemed to address our son’s needs more effectively. While we appreciate the effort and care provided, our experience with neurofeedback and the treatment plan did not produce lasting benefits for our son. We hope this perspective helps other families make informed decisions about similar interventions and to consider school-based supports and individualized education plans as a potential avenue for addressing focus-related challenges in high school.

Nothing like having a reoccurring appointment set up w a therapist and then having your Doctor No call no show to the appointment (after driving 30 plus minuets to appointment) then waiting 15 minutes I realizing no one is coming. I call in to the service to get an explanation and the person that answers says that the “scheduler” no longer works there. Then when some finally calls me back they said yes you have a reoccurring appointment but not for the next 2 weeks while the therapist is on vacation. I am thinking... I wish someone communicated that to me. Then I asked if I didn’t show up to an appointment if I would get charged the full fee. And she basically said. Well of course you would. lol. Oh well.

Last minute canceled my appointment, and I was told my provider now only works 2 days a week on days I could not possibly make it all the way there due to my work schedule. No transition no empathy,0 caring. This came with no possible way to continue a medical prescribed priscrcription plan, just left high and dry, or cold turkey,it was thoughtless,un professional, and medically un sound.then it took multiple calls and emails to get my credit card taken out of their system. Might i also say that my provider who I relied so much on,did not take 1 minute to check on me.never have I been treated to horrible. The 9ffices general lake 8f concern was appalling.
