Arthritis Treatment clinics in Florida

If you searched for prolozone in Clearwater, the Tampa Bay area is one of the better supplied parts of Florida for arthritis treatment, and clinics across Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa appear in this list. Prolozone is a name used for injecting ozone, often mixed with other solutions, into or around a painful joint. Ozone is not FDA approved for treating arthritis, the published research is small and uneven, and it is almost always cash pay, so question it carefully. Check each profile for the services it lists.

Across the state, the 343 listed clinics cluster in a handful of metros: South Florida from Miami through Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, Tampa Bay, Greater Orlando and Jacksonville, with smaller groups around Sarasota, Fort Myers and Naples, Gainesville, Tallahassee and Pensacola. The Big Bend, the inland Panhandle and much of the rural interior have little or nothing nearby. If you live there, plan for a long drive, and in the western Panhandle a clinic in south Alabama may be closer than one in a Florida metro.

Arthritis care in Florida runs from rheumatology and orthopedic offices to stand alone wellness clinics. Florida has addressed some regenerative therapies in state law, summarized in the regulation block on this page; beyond that, federal rules and each profession's scope of practice apply, so ask who performs the procedure and who supervises it.

You can look up a license and public discipline through the Florida Department of Health, which covers the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine for physicians and physician assistants, the Florida Board of Nursing for nurses and nurse practitioners, and the Board of Chiropractic Medicine. A clean record confirms authorization to practice, not whether an injection suits your joint. Before booking, ask what exactly is injected and where it comes from, ask for risks in writing, ask what happens if it does not help, and ask for a quote that itemizes evaluation, imaging, the procedure and follow-up.

Regulatory context

A note on Florida's arthritis treatment rules.

The "other" category is a catchall for regenerative wellness modalities with inconsistent federal oversight. Red light therapy devices (photobiomodulation) have narrow FDA 510(k) clearances for acne, muscle pain, and wound healing, not systemic regeneration. Whole-body cryotherapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical indication and received an FDA safety communication in July 2016 warning of asphyxiation, frostbite, and burn risks. Ozone therapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical use and the FDA has stated ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical application. Condition-specific regenerative offerings (hair restoration with minoxidil or finasteride, ED care beyond PDE5 inhibitors and shockwave) have varying approval depending on route and drug source.

  • Florida Medical Practice Act (Fla. Stat. Ch. 458)
Defines practice of allopathic medicine and delegation rules for wellness clinics.
  • Florida Osteopathic Medical Practice Act (Fla. Stat. Ch. 459)
Parallel statute governing DO practice commonly seen at Florida regenerative clinics.
  • Florida Health Care Clinic Act (Fla. Stat. Ch. 400.990)
Requires certain clinics to hold a Health Care Clinic license unless the clinic qualifies for an exemption based on physician ownership.

Florida is generally permissive but with notable pockets of active enforcement. The Department of Health and boards of medicine and osteopathic medicine investigate unlicensed practice, false advertising of unapproved therapies, and pill mill style operations. The Agency for Health Care Administration enforces the Health Care Clinic Act. Ozone and chelation clinics have faced board action when marketing cancer or Lyme treatment. The Attorney General pursues deceptive health claims under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

Arthritis Treatment in , answered.

Most arthritis treatment clinics in Florida sit in South Florida, Tampa Bay, Greater Orlando and Jacksonville, with smaller numbers around Sarasota, Southwest Florida, Gainesville, Tallahassee and Pensacola. Fewer of them offer ozone injections specifically, so check each profile. If you live in the Big Bend, the inland Panhandle or the rural interior, expect to travel to one of those metros, and confirm a clinic's address and services before you make the trip.

Costs depend on your diagnosis, the procedure and whether the clinic is in your network. Rheumatology visits, physical therapy and standard steroid injections are often covered, while prolozone, platelet-rich plasma and stem cell products are usually cash pay. Ask for a written quote that itemizes evaluation, imaging, each injection and follow-up. This page does not publish averages because prices vary too widely between Florida clinics for an average to help you.

Florida has passed state law on some regenerative therapies, summarized in the regulation block on this page, but there is no single Florida rule covering every arthritis injection. Who may perform a procedure depends on each profession's scope of practice, which the licensing boards oversee. Ask the clinic who will inject your joint, what their license is and who supervises them, and check that answer against the board records.

Use the Florida Department of Health license verification search. It covers physicians and physician assistants under the Florida Board of Medicine and the Board of Osteopathic Medicine, nurses and nurse practitioners under the Florida Board of Nursing, and chiropractors under the Board of Chiropractic Medicine. A record shows license status and public discipline. It will not tell you how experienced someone is with a particular arthritis treatment or whether it fits your case.

People with mild to moderate osteoarthritis who have tried exercise, weight management, physical therapy and standard medication are the ones most often offered injections such as platelet-rich plasma or ozone. Those with advanced joint damage, active infection, uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders or inflammatory arthritis that needs a rheumatologist are usually told to wait or look elsewhere. A clinician should review your imaging and history before recommending anything.

The honest answer is that nobody knows yet with confidence. Some small studies report short term pain relief after ozone injections in knee osteoarthritis, but the trials are limited in size, length and quality, and ozone is not FDA approved for arthritis. Platelet-rich plasma has somewhat more research behind it, and results still vary. Ask any Florida clinic what evidence it relies on and what it will do if the injection does not help.

This page shows arthritis treatment clinics across all of Florida so you can compare regions and decide where to go or whether to travel. City pages add local detail for a single metro, and the national hub explains how the treatments work and what the evidence says. A plain web search mixes ads, articles and clinic marketing, while this list shows profiles with labeled badges and links to licensing context.

Organic order on this page is not sold, so no clinic can pay to move up the regular list. Featured slots are labeled as Featured and capped in number. Verified means the clinic completed credential checks and claim steps, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and appearing in the Florida list is not an endorsement of any clinic or arthritis treatment.
