Scarborough Integrative Health

I have been a patient at Scarborough Integrative Health under the care of Dr. Zarembka for over three years. Until recently, I had always been billed appropriately for direct provider time. My most recent experience was, however, deeply disappointing. At my last visit, I was billed for “chart preparation and documenting”—something that had never been charged in the past. When I reached out to clarify, I received no response. Instead, my card was charged WITHOUT my authorization, which felt both unprofessional and unethical. As a long-time patient, I expected transparency, communication, and consistency. Unfortunately, this experience made it clear that the practice is more for profit than patient care. It’s disheartening to feel that loyalty and trust are overlooked in favor of squeezing out additional, surprise charges without consent. In hindsight, $150 for a 30 minute visit seems very overpriced. Their patients are often desperate for help and it seems like they know it. I hope the clinic reevaluates how they handle long-term patient relationships and billing practices going forward. Thankfully, I have found a Naturopath that takes insurance and is more than transparent with these concerns.

I couldn’t offer a higher recommendation. We had the pleasure of working with Dr Z to treat our child and he quickly and expertly designed a treatment plan that cured our child. The office staff are also excellent and navigated everything from medication prep, prescription information, and FMLA paperwork. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Aguiar and his team. I have been a registered nurse for over five years and have never met a more thorough, kind and professional doctor. Since having Lyme Disease I have suffered debilitating symptoms making me feel mental instability, physical pain and extreme lack of energy. Dr. Aguiar helped develop an individualized plan that I was comfortable with and that has helped me improve my quality of life immensely. Dr. Aguiar’s knowledge in Lyme disease and homeopathic medicine is exceptional. His ability to assess the body’s symptoms and implement methods to aid in healing has helped my wellbeing in so many ways improving my health to spend quality time with my children and family as well as helping fight for my life back. Lyme disease can be an extremely long journey and seem impossible, put I can assure you that you are in wonderful hands here.
