About this clinic

Signature Wellness in Charlotte specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and hormone optimization for menopause and related hormone-imbalance conditions. The clinic combines functional and integrative medicine approaches, with an individualized assessment as the entry point for new patients. Treatment protocols emphasize bioidentical hormones alongside lifestyle and nutritional support, and patients receive ongoing monitoring as therapies are adjusted. The practice focuses on midlife wellness and hormone-related concerns in both women and men, positioning hormone optimization within a broader integrative-medicine framework rather than as a standalone intervention.

Signature Wellness (Belmont) offers personalized care with clean facilities and a competent staff. However, improvements in scheduling flexibility and expanded in-office services are necessary to enhance patient-centered healthcare. While it is a solid choice for those who appreciate a structured program and supportive staff, individuals requiring maximum scheduling flexibility or on-site lab services should carefully evaluate their options before enrolling. My spouse is part of the program and finds it manageable, but this is due to having a flexible schedule and the ability to travel for lab work when needed.

I made an appointment with Dr. Matthews and paid nearly $4,000 for 6 months of support and extensive testing. I received a book of test results and then NEVER saw Dr. Matthews again. Instead I was assigned to an ego-centric Wellness Coach who talked about her health issues (which were plentiful considering functional medicine is the new miracle). I shared my results with both my primary care doc and my best friend who is a Duke-educated medical researcher. Both told me I had been duped. There was a ton of junk science in the lab reports. I've also found articles in medical journals (who Dr. M will tell you is the enemy of her field) discussing the sham of functional medicine's testing. A common one being the MTHFR gene mutation and how they exploit this. Everyone I spoke to afterwards that was a patient said they tested positive for this gene mutation and it was the culprit for issues from weight gain to fatigue and immune deficiencies. I know people are chronically ill and desperate for help. I'm one of you. As my friend said, "I don't know how these people sleep at night." Buyer Beware is all I will say.

Dr Matthew is one of the most knowledgable and compassionate Dr I have ever been to. I don't even mind going to the Dr when I know I will be seeing Dr. Matthew. I most definitely recommend her!
