Heather Flowers is truly and odd duck. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable in her field—far more than others I’ve seen who charge much more—but she also goes above and beyond to support anyone going through a mental or behavioral health crisis.
With her extensive background in the state mental health department, a deep understanding of psychiatric care and medications, and personal experience with 12-step programs, Heather offers a wealth of resources. She genuinely and lovingly goes out of her way to make those resources available to anyone ready to heal and grow.
From my own experience, I can honestly say that neurotherapy with Heather has made a real difference in my cognitive and emotional well-being. For the first time, I feel that real help does exist here in Reno—and that I will get through my tough patch.
If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction or mental health challenges, I’d recommend Heather Flowers every single time—10 out of 10.

Not sure how this is a 5 star mental health clinic. I was 30 minutes late to my very first consultation which i understand but i had called yesterday at 2/27 around the evening to confirm if i was going to be charged which it was not and mind you Heather the lady/owner i presume sounds lovely on the phone but in person looks/sounds the opposite. Heather also added in the call that there was two people ahead of me and that she will be a little late to assist me. My appointment was at 10:30am and i got there 10:54am, mind you new place and area i’ve never been so was lost trying to find. It saddens me that when i walk in she gave me the death stare and was down my throat rude about my lateness. I was trying to explain myself and she wouldn’t let me and kept telling me to quiet down and trying to move in the room to start the session but to be HONEST I am completely turned off. I’m sorry but this is my experience and making the steps to help myself and my mental health and this is my start to my journey is discouraging.

Went with a family member and learned a lot about this process to help people without drug intervention. Saw a change in my family member within 3 visits and have seen long term stability. Heather is very thorough with the brain mapping and treatments, and is there for back up, questions and calls for help.

When I was going through severe depression, emotional agony and anxiety, Heather took me in and worked with me to find relief both with neurotherapy and in finding other specialists to work with.
Part of the recovery process was to understand that I wasn’t alone and that if she had gone through life as she had, then maybe I’ve got a glimmer of a chance. It’s just a matter of having a good attitude and a helpful perspective about it all. I have definitely noticed a big uptick in positive energy throughout the day and better capacity to focus when reading from the neurotherapy sessions. Having known Heather for several years I would recommend her to my own family where they could feel comfortable and get 1 on 1 contact that makes such a huge difference.

My experience here was extremely disappointing. While neurofeedback treatment itself clearly has many benefits, the negatives of this particular provider and clinic far outweighed the benefits. I found the provider Heather Flowers to be very unprofessional as a "mental health" clinician, seemingly without proper training in speaking to & working with sensitive mental health issues. She consistently self-disclosed details of her own traumas, which made me extremely uncomfortable. She would bring up her own experience and trauma to compare my experience to her own, often making assumptions about me and my experience without actually asking me. She often disregarded and dismissed my self disclosure of my own experience, in favor of her own assumptions and biases, which often made me feel judged and misunderstood. She also disclosed details about other patients that I felt was inappropriate.
I also felt she over-stepped in many instances from what her expertise actually is. She gave unsolicited "therapeutic" advice that was unhelpful, and actually made me feel alienated and shamed. She pushed me to answer questions I did not feel was her place, and scoffed at some responses I provided on actual coping mechanisms I did find helpful. She also pushed me to stop taking my long-term medications, and went so far as to say that prozac will cause dementia. She also told me that my (generational) OCD was caused by strep throat.
The clinic itself was very unhygienic - especially for someone with OCD. She never used gloves, and did not even have a sink in the office to wash hands. She only used tissues to wipe off the electrodes between patients.
On top of this, she was extremely unhelpful and cagey when it came to providing me a super bill, which I first asked for during my very first visit. She gave me excuse after excuse each subsequent visit, and the bill she finally gave me (after 5 visits) was incomplete. [update after 7 months of back and forth with my insurance: the NPI I was provided is NOT validly registered so I’m unable to get any kind of reimbursement]
I do not recommend this clinic as a safe space to receive mental health support.
