I had a very positive experience with Dr. Gabel and his staff in Portland Oregon. I went to Dr. Gabel's looking for help to hide hair loss and scars from a prior surgery. He spent considerable time with me during the initial consultations to understand my objectives, to assess transplant viability and to discuss options. (Note there is a consultation fee for his time.) I decided to proceed with a no-shave FUE transplant and waited a few months to get into surgery. Dr. Gabel’s office was very supportive throughout the entire process from pre-op preparation, the surgery itself and post-op care. The surgery was well staffed and beautifully orchestrated. The surgery prep and surgery itself took an entire day but was not too bad with very kind staff looking after me, breaks, lunch, changing position, music, etc. Pain was surprisingly minimal. I had several post op appointments to help with hair washing and scalp treatment. These were really helpful and I felt well taken care of. I am just over 1 week post op and doing well. I do have some pain in the donor region that I am working through. I feel confident that I chose the right surgeon and staff for this procedure and thankfully they are in the Pacific Northwest. I am looking forward to seeing the results in a few months.

Phenomenal experience and results with Dr. Gabel and his staff. 6 months after the procedure and I couldn't be happier with the results! Staff is all incredibly kind and helpful and really made me feel welcome during any of my appointments and on the day of surgery. Overall - yes it's expensive, yes you need to pay for your initial consultation - but you absolutely get what you pay for and you will get results with how thorough Dr. Gabel his staff are. I really can't recommend this place enough. Don't go to Turkey. Go to Gabel.

I was blessed to receive gender affirming care in cooperation with Kaiser Permanente health insurance for hair restoration. Dr. Gabel and staff were incredibly cool, respectful and so focused and on point. I've honestly never heard my pronouns being used correctly and consistently so often including my prefered name. Even when I was half a sleep, I could hear, "we gotta get her up soon." This experience was an absolute blessing. I encourage others to look into this resource for their own hair care. I never thought this would be realistic. Watching my hair grow is going to be magical. Much gratitude and joy. 🥹 💜🎶🏳️‍⚧️

I recently had a hair transplant procedure with Dr. Gabel, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been treated by a surgeon who is widely regarded as one of the best in the country. He performed 2,000 grafts for me, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience and results. From start to finish, the process was smooth and virtually painless. Dr. Gabel was meticulous in maintaining the local anesthesia, ensuring I was comfortable the entire time. His precision and dedication to his craft are evident; he truly approaches his work as both a perfectionist and an artist. Beyond Dr. Gabel’s exceptional skill, his team also stood out. They were knowledgeable, kind, and highly professional, creating a welcoming and supportive environment throughout the procedure. A thoughtful touch was the office being well-stocked with delicious snacks, which made the long procedure even more comfortable. What impressed me the most, however, was the aftercare. Having undergone multiple cosmetic procedures in the past, I can confidently say that I have never experienced post-operative care as thorough as what Dr. Gabel provides. During the two-week healing period, I returned to the clinic daily for a shampoo, and for the first week, I also used his hyperbaric oxygen machine, which aids in healing and enhances results. This level of aftercare is truly above and beyond. Now that I’ve healed, I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome. The results have exceeded my expectations, and I’m so grateful for the expertise and care Dr. Gabel and his team provided. If you’re considering a hair transplant, I cannot recommend Dr. Gabel highly enough. His work speaks for itself.

Dr. Gabel and his staff were absolutely amazing! I could not be more pleased with the results. The hairline looks natural, volume is full, and the donor sites are not noticeable. Having the hair transplant surgery is one of the best decisions that I have made. I am very glad that Dr. Gabel was my doctor.
