About this clinic
The Nexus Group, a functional-medicine clinic in Pittsburgh, offers ketamine therapy as a clinical intervention for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and related conditions. The practice integrates ketamine protocols within a broader functional-medicine and psychiatric framework, with treatment tailored to individual patient presentations. An initial comprehensive assessment establishes baseline symptoms and treatment goals, guiding dosing and frequency. The clinic emphasizes the therapeutic component of ketamine work alongside medical monitoring, positioning the treatment as part of an evidence-based approach to mental-health conditions that have not responded adequately to conventional pharmaceutical or psychotherapy-alone pathways
This office's response time for voicemails and messages through their patient portal is well over 1 week. If you want an office that will treat you with dignity and respect, or will be available for questions during your treatment, look elsewhere.
EDIT: They found the time to reply to this review but still have not replied to my messages. It would be nice if they cared about the quality of their services half as much as their rating.

Nexus Group has been a savior for me. Greta Thorkelson has been amazing in helping me find the right medication and providing me with resources and support. She's easy to talk to, pays attention to my individual needs and is available both for office and virtual visits. With Greta's help, I have been able to find a perfect for me combination of meds that keeps me cool, calm and collected.

This practice used to be a decent one but has gone downhill significantly with multiple psychiatrists quitting without notice and patients being left without anyone to fill medication prescriptions. Myself and several people I know are basically being told that we need to wait even though some of us have had to go cold turkey on psychiatric medication because we can’t get a prescription refill. So now I have to put myself on waiting lists for other psychiatrists and other practices and hope that my mental health doesn’t decline as a result. This is absolutely appalling behavior and is of The utmost lack of professional integrity. Thankfully for me my situation is not dire but I do know one person who is in the same boat and Fears becoming suicidal And the Nexus group will not return their phone calls and pleas to be assigned to another psychiatrist at least for the short term so that they can find care elsewhere.
Having so many people quit and not being able to provide any sort of bridge while they sort out their mental health care is absolutely unacceptable. Thorkelson should lose his License for this. Or do we have to wait for someone to die because of their negligence?

Happy to add more details when I'm in a better space, but all I can say is this experience was traumatic. I've never been at a lower point after the way I feel like I was treated here. I've never felt less cared about in my life.
UPDATE: I got a lot of vindication last week when my insurance company told me that this business had been billing me twice for each visit - once as a virtual session and once as an in-person visit. They made me feel crazy because I was insistent that when my copay randomly skyrocketed that they were billing me wrong and eventually discharged me without telling me because they didn't want to deal with me anymore lol. This place is a scam! Also, no, I did not ever receive a refund.

So glad I found The Nexus Group! My insurance went hard generic on meds & my previous Psych NP was not a good fit for this situation. I found my current Psych PA and drove more than an hour to have my first appointment with her about 2 years ago. She has been amazing! She's compassionate, patient, understanding, super knowledgeable, easy to talk to & got me back on the meds that worked best with my brain! I now have the energy & mental spoons to dig myself out of the chaos that my life spiraled into when I didn't have access to the correct meds at a reasonable cost. Every staff member that I have interacted with along the way has been kind, professional and helpful.
