While I haven’t been a client at Transitional Characters, I’ve witnessed the impact this practice has had on the community firsthand. The work they do is deeply intentional and rooted in a commitment to healing, liberation, and justice. It’s rare to see a practice so centered on decolonial values, cultural relevance, and real accessibility. Transitional Characters is more than a therapy space, it’s a reflection of what it means to truly show up for the COMMUNITY.

The entering team is amazing!  They really make me feel appreciated and listened too. Charles was able to get me set up super quick and easy. They went above and beyond to make sure I found the right fit. Highly recommend!

I spent years with various therapists around Pittsburgh, all well-intentioned, but ultimately using the same playbook. It's always some version of CBT within the confines of a hyper-individualized and disembodied society. Finally Pittsburgh has a therapy practice that places an emphasis on the social and cultural contexts that contribute to our collective wellbeing. This is a space of community. What could a more just and loving world look like? It starts in places like this. Excellent vibes, kind people. 10/10
