Southern Shores Urogynecology has exceeded my expectations as a patient. Dr. Janet Harris-Hicks runs her practice efficiently and successfully. She is an excellent surgeon and skilled physician. The staff is always helpful, pleasant, and supportive. Dr. Harris-Hicks also practices patient education which is vital to successful outcomes. She is very knowledgeable and so is her staff. I had surgery performed by Dr. Hicks in September of 2024. It was highly successful and without complications. I am so happy I had it! It changed my life. I presently see Dr. Hicks for HRT, thyroid, and any other needs appropriate to her practice. I drive two hours to see her, and it is always time well spent. Very satisfied with the care from this office staff. From the first phone call to the last testing. Angela Naples and Brenda were amazing , empathetic and bed side manner is amazing . Angela explained every single thing she did with warmth and compassion. She is very educated with a great deal of knowledge of her skills and very informative to the patient. Brenda very knows and explained everything that she did with nice chats and a gentle touch. The staff her is amazing…. Pleasant and helpful and go over and above with kindness. I highly recommend this practice to all. I have a consultation with DR. Hicks coming up. Can not wait to consult with the woman behind this practice . I am positive I will be 100 % satisfied . After all she created this warm welcoming helpful atmosphere.

The most professional, adept and courteous staff. I was referred by my doctor for pelvic floor issues. Every person in this office is female. I love that. Dr. Hicks has some impressive letters behind her name, in addition to the fact that she has actually testified before congress and does extremely thorough research—and been involved in the research—on the products she uses in her practice. I wasn’t even considering hormone therapy when I came for my appointment. But after seeing the research and speaking to the staff who have it and love it I decided to try it. I had been unusually fatigued and had trouble sleeping the past several months. The change was remarkable. My moods improved, my brain fog got better, I slept more soundly, and my energy was restored.
