Colorado
TMJ treatment in Colorado is concentrated along the Front Range. The Denver metro carries most of the dental, orofacial pain, oral surgery and physical therapy practices that work with jaw pain, followed by Colorado Springs, the Boulder and Fort Collins area, and a smaller presence around Pueblo. If you are looking for TMJ dentists in Northglenn, you are in the north Denver suburbs, inside the densest part of that supply, so practices across the Denver metro and toward Boulder are usually a reasonable drive. The Western Slope, the mountain towns, the San Luis Valley and the Eastern Plains have far fewer dedicated options, so patients there often travel to the Front Range for specialist care.
Colorado does not carve out special rules for jaw disorders. Ordinary scope of practice rules for dentists, physicians, nurses and physical therapists apply, alongside federal device and drug rules. Most care happens in a dental office, an oral surgery practice or a physical therapy clinic, with a physician involved when headaches or neck pain are part of the picture. Orofacial pain is a recognized dental specialty, so it is fair to ask whether a dentist has formal training in it.
To verify a provider, use the license lookup run by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, which covers the Colorado Dental Board, the Colorado Medical Board, the Colorado Board of Nursing and the Colorado Physical Therapy Board. A lookup confirms that a license is active and shows public disciplinary actions. It will not show experience with jaw disorders or pricing.
Before booking anywhere in the state, ask who will examine you and who supervises any assistant, exactly what appliance, therapy or injection is proposed and where it comes from, how risks are explained in writing, what happens if symptoms do not improve, and whether the quote itemizes the exam, imaging, appliance and follow up visits. Be cautious with any plan that starts with permanent changes to your bite.
Listing order on this page is not sold. Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means a clinic has passed credential checks, not that it spent more. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion here is not an endorsement. The national TMJ treatment hub explains the approaches and where evidence is stronger or thinner. See How to read a Regenerated city hub and Featured vs Verified vs organic.
Regulatory context
The "other" category is a catchall for regenerative wellness modalities with inconsistent federal oversight. Red light therapy devices (photobiomodulation) have narrow FDA 510(k) clearances for acne, muscle pain, and wound healing, not systemic regeneration. Whole-body cryotherapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical indication and received an FDA safety communication in July 2016 warning of asphyxiation, frostbite, and burn risks. Ozone therapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical use and the FDA has stated ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical application. Condition-specific regenerative offerings (hair restoration with minoxidil or finasteride, ED care beyond PDE5 inhibitors and shockwave) have varying approval depending on route and drug source.
The Colorado Medical Board investigates unlicensed medical practice, corporate practice violations, and false advertising by wellness clinics. Ozone and chelation clinics making disease-treatment claims have faced disciplinary action. The Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) consolidates oversight across medical, nursing, and pharmacy boards. Enforcement is moderate and complaint-driven. The Colorado Attorney General pursues deceptive health claims under the Colorado Consumer Protection Act.
