I have suffered with depression my entire life. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. For the next 3 years I was in and out of the hospital. My Dr. tried every available medication, nothing helped. I tried TMS, Ketamine and even ECT...still no relief. I was so depressed and suicidal. After reviewing all the testimonials she encouraged me to call. It was the best phone call of my life. Dr. Curtis was so compassionate and understanding. More importantly, he was very confident that he could help me. So, I began Neurofeedback. After trying so many medicines and treatments I was very skeptical. After the first 3 or 4 sessions I started to feel like there was hope. The suicidal thoughts stopped and it felt as though a great weight was lifted off me. I continued to improve over the next few sessions. Now I feel alive, full of optimism and hope. My family is eternally grateful, these last 3 years have been awful for them. Finally, I have my husband back!! My husband went from running a large company to literally not being able to get through the day. It was heartbreaking. After several years of my husband being diagnosed with debilitating bipolar depression I found Dr. Curtis and it seemed like a miracle! My husband spent 3 years trying different medications, ketamine, ECT, and TMS. He had a consultation with Dr. Curtis and decided to give neurofeedback a try. He had nothing to lose. I am the father of a truly amazing 20-year-old young man who has Bipolar I, in addition to ADHD and anxiety. After two unimaginably heartbreaking years attempting to seek stability through different medications, therapy, and organic practices, I was taken in by The Bipolar Center's "gaurantee" of effectiveness. I thought this "alternative therapy" must be the answer for my boy. With blind faith, hopeful optimistism, and a trusting heart, I initiated a phone consultation with Curtis Schindeler from the Bipolar Center in Palm Beach Gardens. Curtis was extremely encouraging over the phone. We followed up with an "initial intake appointment" with Curtis' wife and associate, Ann Taylor. During this appointment, my son was immediately qualified as a great candidate for Nuero-feedback by Ann Taylor. I'm skipping over all of the very ugly parts of what I/we experienced dealing with this husband and wife team, but what's most important and upsetting, is after 20 sessions of Nuero-feedback, costing almost $4000.00, my son showed NO indication of improvement at all. (It was so disheartening and frustrating.) After bringing this observation to the two therapist's attention and later seeking their notable money-back guarantee (if the patient doesn't show improvement), they stopped communication with me. After multiple attempts to reach them regarding this openly stated refund policy, they told me we didn't qualify for the refund because I had made TWO separate payments not one (the stipulation which gets them off the hook for a refund), and also that stated my son had more indications than just Bipolar, which also voids their gaurantee, and coincidentally, was also NEVER explained before starting treatment. Based on my son's complete lack of positive results and the manner in which they handled our concerns, I would give ZERO STARS if it were possible. If you or a loved one is struggling with Bipolar, do a very deep dive into Nuero-feedback as an option for Bipolar, and you will have a good understanding if this is right for you. For my son, we wasted energy, hope, time, and money. [Based on my opinion and experience, my intention in writing this review is to provide insight, assistance, and possible protection to those that are desperate or possibly vulnerable while in the midst of a mental health struggle, either yours or a loved one.
