My name is Michael, I'm 72 years old and live a active lifestyle. My Orthopedic Doctor wanted to replace both shoulders as I was living with constant shoulder pain of 3 and above. I have severe osteoarthritis which limited my daily activities. I did not want a knee replacement, which seemed like my only option. Upon doing much research on alternatives to surgery, I found Dr. Pearl. My pain has greatly diminished since the procedure which was done about 6 months ago, and I am participating in activities that I haven't performed in years. I am a seventy-six year old patient of Dr Pearl. I have suffered for over twenty-five years with extreme knee pain in both knees. I have helped run a family business for over forty--five years. The stairs, meetings, walking on concrete floors in warehouses and manufacturing plants grew increasingly unbearable. Gardening, travel, and simple activities were no longer pleasures in which I could partake. A family trip to Disney was declined as it would have been impossible without a wheelchair. However, it was the final straw that drove me to take action and regain my life as I wanted to live it. I was opposed to the traditional surgical knee replacement surgery for many reasons. I had known of Dr. Pearl and her pain management for more than twenty years, although I had never made the time to visit her office. I made the decision to see Dr. Pearl and discuss my medical situation. After X-rys and an MRI, it was established that I was a good candidate, and we set the date for the procedure. November 9, 2023 was the beginning of my journey to regain the ability to enjoy my life without pain. Jennifer W, prepared me with the steps I would need to prepare prior to and post procedure. Everything was explained clearly and in detail, leaving me with all of the information I needed to feel completely at ease with my decision. On November 9, 2023, Dr Pearl performed the procedure. The staff assisting her stood out in their professionlism. I was made to feel comfortable at all times. After the procedure, I continued the supplements and followed the instructions as prescribed. Today is January 19,2024. This past holiday, I partook in all of the family holiday activities, walking, climbing stairs and enjoying myself more than I had been able in decades. I was able to stand, bake, talk without having to sit, and do so without the pain I had endured for so long. My other knee is in need of the same procedure. I will be planning on scheduling that procedure in the coming few months. The only regret I have had is that I waited so long.
