About this clinic

Dr. Julie McGregor's practice in Chapel Hill offers integrative medicine with a focus on functional assessment and individualized protocols. The clinic specializes in hormone-replacement therapy and testosterone-replacement therapy, supported by comprehensive lab work and ongoing monitoring. Treatment plans commonly integrate IV therapy, red-light therapy, and Shockwave Therapy alongside hormone optimization. The practice addresses gut health, hormone imbalance, and weight management within a systems-based framework rather than treating symptoms in isolation. Patients receive care emphasizing the interconnection between hormonal, digestive, and metabolic function, with protocols adjusted over time according to clinical response and lab findings.

I have Crohn’s disease and have been dealing with chronic fatigue , headaches, fevers and chills for about a year. My Crohn’s has stayed in remission throughout this and my other doctors said “Oh, You’re on Humira, that makes you feel sick.” They said all my symptoms came with the territory of having Crohn’s, even though I’ve had it for over a decade and had never experienced this. I had begun to feel like I would never have a normal life. I didn’t even see Doctor McGregor regarding this, I just needed a new stimulant prescription for my ADHD, and casually mentioned to her what I had been experiencing. I thought she would dismiss it like everyone else but she instantly had a theory and ordered bloodwork. Turns out I had two infections my body was struggling to fight due to my immune suppressant. She gave me medications to fix the issue. If someone had taken me seriously like she did I would have a year of my life back. I’m still processing all this.

Dr. McGregor is personable and, in my opinion, seems quite capable. However, her office staff is a problem. I've found that one cannot rely on them to answer E-mails, to insure that information needed for appointments they are supposed to arrange is provided so the appointment can occur, to provide correct information whether their service will be covered by my insurance company. I recommend that patients get contact information for whatever the office is supposed to arrange, contact those folks directly, and keep contacting the doctor's office to make things happen. Do not make any assumptions about things being done. I have made the doctor aware of these problems. I would give the doctor a 4 or 5 star rating, but not with her current staff. However, I'm still a patient, since she has been helpful and I think she herself is quite good. No longer a patient. Her staff won.
