Good Health Psychiatric Services

I've been living in nyc for 15 years and I can tell you finding good healthcare here is nearly impossible. Good Health has been a godsend. My doctor, Dr. Makisa is the best i've had and it's not even close. The office there are super responsive and reliable. If my dr. is out or I need immediate attention, I'm paired with another doc at the practice. It's happened twice and both times the doctors have been amazing. Dr. Shavulskiy and Dr. Aguilar were great. I've had to make somewhat urgent last minute requests and each time they are met with care and handled in a timely manner. Sandeep Kang was the Most Amazing & I feel lucky to have had her see me! She's a beautiful person in & out!! Listened to me, Caring & Compassionate!! What More could any patient ask for :) Unfortunately, she wasn't able to manage the controlled medications I have been on, but if it wasn't for that, SHE'S THE ONLY ONE I'D WAT CARING FOR ME!! I've been working with Ms. Maldonado for a few months now. So this year has started exactly the way it needed to. After a very difficult year of therapist turnover and uncertainty, I am deeply grateful to be working with Ms. Maldonado. Finding a therapist who is knowledgeable, open, and genuinely skilled with dissociative traits is not easy, and she meets that challenge with care, intelligence, and respect. She also takes the time to understand and work with all parts of my system. She looks at what each part needs, what it is doing, and why it is doing what it does. Having dissociative traits requires a therapist who is not only understanding and open, but willing to thoughtfully apply what they know, while also continuing to learn and expand their understanding. I deeply appreciate this level of care and attention. She treats the whole person and the whole life, not just isolated situations. She listens closely, honors boundaries, and knows how to gently guide difficult emotional work without forcing it. She is well-read, thoughtful, and adapts her approach to how I learn and process, which has helped me actively implement what we discuss between sessions. I started this year feeling grounded, supported, and motivated to grow, and that says everything. Ms. Maldonado is not just excellent—she is phenomenal. I am truly thriving because of this work.
