About this clinic

Wonderfully Made Functional Medicine, a functional and integrative-medicine clinic in Frisco, specializes in ozone therapy, IV therapy, and hormone optimization for patients managing thyroid conditions, hormone imbalance, and age-related decline. The clinic offers an individualized workup as the foundation for treatment selection, with an emphasis on supporting the body's regenerative capacity rather than symptom management alone. Protocols are sequenced according to patient presentation and lab results. The practice positions itself as an alternative framework for patients seeking integrative approaches to midlife health, chronic conditions, and longevity goals alongside conventional medical care.

Proceed with extreme caution. Functional medicine is a process that takes time to acclimate to. It can be overwhelming and is also a financial commitment. That was not made clear to me upfront. In my experience as a new patient for 18 months, Dr. Wood and her staff proved to be very rigid, impatient, and unforgiving. There is very little new patient education and orientation, as they assume you know what you are getting into without explaining how the process works and the expectations. Ongoing communication is also an area that needs significant improvement. After a rough start (I made the mistake of starting this journey with a new position) I was finally on my way to getting the swing of managing the prescriptions and daily supplements scheduled, only to be dismissed unexpectedly because I did not understand that I was late in getting a lab test. There was no discussion, no warning, not a courtesy friendly reminder nothing. Just an immediate dismissal letter first thing Monday morning. This was incredibly disappointing after time and money invested, and even more so that Dr. Wood positions her practices as an extension of her Christian faith. I do not recommend Dr. Wood for anyone looking for a physician partner to assist you in guiding your journey into the world of functional medicine.

I have been a patient of Dr.Wood's for over 15 years now. I love her office and her staff- they always treat me so respectfully and totally understand the discomfort a woman can have in going to a gynecologist. They do everything they can to make you feel at ease and comfortable. Dr.Wood is great and will give you the time you need. She is very competent when doing any procedures that need to be done. She is also pro-active with keeping her patients well.

2 year relationship. The doctor is kind. Recently the staff receptionist, Karen, was rude and condescending regarding being seen once per year in person when I requested a refill. I communicated this interaction via the patient portal, hoped for better then booked my in person appt 1 month later. I asked for specific test to have fresh results 7 days before my appt so the Doctor would have up to date results to view. Rec'd major resistance from the Dr's Medical Assistant, Paige, who would not order the test because she said the test results take 10 days from Lab corp. This is not true. I usally recv results in 2-3 days in the past for the same exact test Ive been doing with this office for 2 years. After going back a fourth via the patient portal with Paige (see below) I requested to reschedule my appt so I could have fresh results for the Doctor vs paying $150 for a visit with no good data. I received a letter from Paige terminating my patient status and a 1 month prescription refill ,without my consent, that was sent to the Pharmacy who automatically charges my CC and ships to me. I never rec'd a call and this feels very personal. I also believe unethical since per Dr. Wood's office I needed to be seen in person before a refill can be ordered. Healthcare from Functional Medical Doctors can be costly so to receive this kind of service is very dishearetening.
