Dr Jennifer Engels was the answer to my proactive health journey. Having obtained 100+ blood test results from Function Health on line - I did not know what to do with the information received. Dr Engels provided the answers! I had been overmedicated for a 25 year long condition, and she got me on a more natural medication that made a world of difference in how I felt. Her knowledge in the Function Health arena is vast and she worked with me to optimize my health in many ways. She provides the tools & Education needed for optimized blood test results that make such a difference in in overall functioning. You have to do the work, but she tells you how to reach the goal. Her staff was great and became my health family that I looked forward to seeing on my visits. I turn 70 next week and I feel the best I have in years. I highly recommend WeCare Frisco, Dr Engels and staff, for anyone wanting to understand how their body works, what it takes to optimise body function and then enjoy living with the results that make a huge difference to daily life.

I've been seeing Dr. Engels for a few years now, and I can honestly say you will not find a doctor that cares more for her patients. She's never been dismissive towards me, which has often been my experience, and I truly feel heard when she's working with me - not to mention, I feel light years better today then I did before I started seeing her! I truly wanted We Care Frisco to work for me and believe the providers had good intentions, but my experience was ultimately disappointing and costly. Each visit seemed to result in the recommendation of another supplement or additional testing that didn’t address the root cause of my symptoms (ex: Sleep apnea test, DUTCH test). All ended up being a very costly expense that I didn’t get answers from. I was placed on progesterone and testosterone but not an estrogen patch, without a clear explanation. After doing my own research and seeing a gynecologist, I was immediately prescribed an estrogen patch, which resolved my hot flashes and insomnia. My lab work also showed very high reverse T3 and other thyroid values that were not optimal. This was not addressed beyond being told to meditate and take another supplement. After going to Modern Thyroid Clinic, my doctor there was surprised this hadn’t been treated. Once I was started on T3 and stopped many of the supplements I had been placed on, my fatigue and brain fog significantly improved. It wasn’t until I sought care elsewhere after not renewing my membership that I truly got my life back. While I don’t doubt their intentions, I wish there had been more thorough explanations and focus on addressing root causes rather than selling supplements.
