Sleep Apnea Treatment clinics in the United States

This is the national page for sleep apnea treatment on Regenerated.com, listing clinics across the United States that record care for sleep apnea, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), central sleep apnea and loud snoring with breathing pauses. Sleep apnea treatment keeps the upper airway open or steadies breathing during sleep. The standard first option is positive airway pressure: continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), auto adjusting CPAP (APAP) or bilevel pressure (BiPAP), delivered through a mask from a bedside machine. Other options include oral appliance therapy with a custom mandibular advancement device made by a dentist, positional therapy, weight loss care, hypoglossal nerve stimulation, and airway surgery such as uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) or maxillomandibular advancement. Care is delivered by board certified sleep medicine physicians, pulmonologists, ear, nose and throat surgeons, dentists trained in dental sleep medicine, neurologists, nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists, and patients often compare it with care for insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome and snoring alone.

The evidence for sleep apnea treatment is strongest for positive airway pressure, which the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) recommends for adults with OSA and which reduces daytime sleepiness and improves blood pressure in many patients. CPAP machines, oral appliances and hypoglossal nerve stimulators are FDA cleared or approved devices for specific uses, and the STAR trial led by Patrick Strollo, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, supported nerve stimulation for selected adults who cannot use CPAP. The weight loss drug tirzepatide is FDA approved for moderate to severe OSA in adults with obesity. The SAVE trial led by Doug McEvoy did not show that CPAP prevented heart attacks or strokes in people with existing heart disease, so benefits beyond symptoms and blood pressure remain under study. Evidence for myofunctional therapy, laser snoring procedures, supplements or IV infusions in sleep apnea is thin, and those services are usually cash pay.

A typical candidate has sleep apnea confirmed by an in lab sleep study (polysomnography) or a home sleep apnea test, scored by the apnea hypopnea index (AHI), along with snoring, witnessed pauses, morning headaches or daytime sleepiness. People who cannot tolerate CPAP are often assessed for oral appliances, nerve stimulation or surgery, each with its own anatomy and weight criteria. Patients with central sleep apnea, heart failure, opioid use or a neuromuscular condition usually need a physician led sleep center rather than a wellness setting.

Supply of sleep apnea care is spread nationwide across several kinds of settings. It is offered in hospital and university sleep centers, independent sleep labs, pulmonology and ENT practices, dental sleep medicine offices, primary care clinics and integrative or wellness clinics. Listings concentrate in large metros such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta and Phoenix, while rural areas often rely on home testing and telehealth. Many patients across the country travel to a larger city for surgery or nerve stimulation, then continue device follow up closer to home.

Before booking anywhere, ask who holds the license, who reads your sleep study and whether a sleep medicine physician has confirmed the diagnosis. Ask exactly what is provided, which device or procedure, where it comes from, and whether its use is approved for your type of sleep apnea or off label. Ask for written disclosure of risks such as jaw pain, mask problems or surgical complications. A clear quote itemizes testing, equipment, fittings, procedures and follow up, and the plan should include a repeat check of whether the treatment is actually working.

This national list is not for sale. Organic order is never paid ranking, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means the clinic completed credential checks, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement of any clinic or treatment. Use the state hubs below the list to build a shortlist of sleep apnea providers closer to you.

Sleep Apnea Treatment in the United States, answered.

Sleep apnea treatment keeps the airway open or steadies breathing so oxygen levels and sleep stay stable through the night. CPAP and related machines push gentle air pressure through a mask to hold the throat open. Oral appliances move the lower jaw forward, hypoglossal nerve stimulation tightens the tongue muscle during sleep, and surgery removes or repositions tissue that blocks the airway. Weight loss, positional therapy and treating nasal blockage often support the main plan.

Sleep apnea treatment in the United States is provided by board certified sleep medicine physicians, pulmonologists, ENT surgeons, neurologists, dentists trained in dental sleep medicine, nurse practitioners and respiratory therapists. Hospital and university sleep centers handle complex cases, central sleep apnea and nerve stimulation, while dental offices fit oral appliances and durable medical equipment suppliers provide CPAP machines. This page does not rank anyone as the best provider, so compare credentials, testing and follow up across the clinics listed.

Positive airway pressure has the strongest evidence for sleep apnea, with reliable gains in daytime sleepiness, quality of life and blood pressure when it is used most nights. Oral appliances suit many adults with mild to moderate OSA or CPAP intolerance, and nerve stimulation helps selected patients. The SAVE trial did not show that CPAP prevents heart attacks or strokes in people with heart disease. Evidence for supplements, laser snoring treatments and IV infusions in sleep apnea remains thin.

A good candidate has sleep apnea confirmed by a sleep study and symptoms such as loud snoring, witnessed pauses, choking awake, morning headaches or daytime sleepiness. CPAP fits most adults with OSA, while oral appliances, nerve stimulation and surgery each have their own anatomy, weight and severity criteria. People with central sleep apnea, heart failure, opioid use or lung disease usually need a full sleep center. Anyone who falls asleep while driving should seek medical review promptly.

A course of sleep apnea treatment starts with a consultation and a home or in lab sleep study, then a review of results with a clinician. CPAP users get a mask fitting, pressure settings and data checks over the first weeks to confirm regular use. Oral appliance patients have impressions, fittings and gradual adjustment, and surgical or nerve stimulation patients have an airway evaluation first. Most good plans include a follow up test to confirm the treatment is working.

The cost of sleep apnea treatment depends on the type of sleep study, the equipment or procedure chosen, specialist fees, follow up visits and whether insurance or Medicare covers the service. CPAP supplies such as masks and filters are replaced over time, and surgery or nerve stimulation adds facility and anesthesia charges. Regenerated.com publishes no average prices because quotes vary widely by plan and setting. Ask each clinic for a written, itemized quote before you commit.

You can verify a sleep apnea clinician's license on the state medical board website for physicians, the state dental board for dentists and the state nursing board for nurse practitioners, all searchable by name. Board certification in sleep medicine can be checked through the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Board of Internal Medicine. Ask the clinic who reads your sleep study and who supervises your care, then confirm that person's license yourself.

Organic order on this national sleep apnea page is never sold, so no clinic can pay to move up the regular list. Featured slots are clearly labeled and capped in number, and Verified means the clinic completed credential checks, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion is not an endorsement. To build a local shortlist, open your state hub below the list, then compare the clinics there on credentials, testing and follow up.
