About this clinic

Vital Total Health Medical Group, a hormone-optimization and peptide-therapy clinic in San Francisco, specializes in hormone replacement therapy and testosterone replacement therapy for men and women experiencing hormone-related decline. The practice offers individualized treatment protocols following comprehensive lab work, with ongoing monitoring as dosing is adjusted. Ketamine infusion therapy is available for patients with treatment-resistant depression or anxiety. The clinic integrates medical weight-loss programming, acupuncture, and functional-medicine assessment into its broader hormone-optimization framework. Treatment emphasizes evidence-based protocols tailored to each patient's metabolic and hormonal profile rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

I was recommended to come here by my health insurance “concierge” service. I just needed some routine PT to regain strength and mobility after an ankle sprain. First of all: this clinic only does sonic wave therapy, which isn’t what I expected. Whatever, the medical community seems to agree that it’s effective… provided that you can actually receive the treatment. My practitioner was erratic, running 15min late the only two times I saw her. Annoying, but fine, she’s only human, I’m chill. Then she failed to schedule my follow-up. There is no patient portal, you can’t communicate with a real doctor, it’s just a call center, so I called there. I got scheduled, I showed up, she’s not here, called again, scheduled again, showed up again, not here again. This is obviously unacceptable but I also feel like I’m losing my mind. How does one fail to show up for their scheduled appointment with a patient? Twice? How could the system be this broken? Maybe the entire company is having a family emergency right now or something but like why couldn’t anyone tell me in advance. Twice. If you would like to be in a labyrinthine purgatory of miserable call centers and commuting during the work day to a closed clinic, I highly recommend Vital Total Health. However, if you would like your injuries to improve, I would avoid at all costs.

Provider was late to my intake appointment and a no-show for my therapy appointment. No one contacted me to let me know about either of the delays. After waiting for 25 minutes in the hallway outside their unstaffed and locked office for my therapy appointment, they responded to my voicemail letting me know the provider could start making her way over from Walnut Creek and would be an hour late.

These folks don't seem like pain management specialists, they seem like addiction specialists. Without even having an in depth meeting with me they diagnosed me with being 'opiate dependent' when i haven't taken ANY pain meds for nearly a year, due to a severe ankle fracture that is STILL not healed. Even with this terrible injury, i've taken VERY FEW pain meds and for a short amount of time, the least dose possible. The Dr's seem VERY VERY paranoid about prescribing any short term pain meds and labeling someone with a diagnosis like 'opiate dependence' is not only a LIE but it's dangerous and unprofessional. Avoid.
