Perimenopause was gradually creeping up on me but I didn't know it. Once I finally figured out that crippling insomnia and anxiety were coming on from peri, I reached out to my health insurance and was given 100mg progesterone and an estradiol patch. I found instant relief from some of my other symptoms from the patch but the pill gave me even more anxiety. I was desperate for relief and sleep and to feel human again. I searched high and low for someone to help me and I found it at Kore. Dr. Uppal started me on 25mg. of compounded progesterone, as well as topical estradiol and testosterone (after testing of course). I was able to slowly increase my progesterone amount so it didn't overwhelm my body and increase my anxiety. I tend to be super sensitive to most medications, supplements, etc. so I was very grateful that I was able to take my time working my way up to my current dose of 200mg of progesterone. Based on continued bloodwork, my estradiol amount has been doubled and I find myself feeling human again being on these increased doses. It's not a quick or easy fix when you are trying to get peri symptoms under control but I feel so much better than I did the first time I walked into her office. BHRT has been a life saver for me and I highly recommend Dr. Uppal if you are struggling through this transition in life.
