I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Agesen, MD, Dr. Bowen, DO, and their incredibly professional and caring staff at New Jersey Regenerative Institute in Parsippany, NJ.
From the start, Justin was so polite and welcoming when scheduling my appointment — something you don’t see often these days. Taylor went above and beyond, staying on the phone with me to make sure my MRI was all set up. And Maritza always greets me with a warm smile at the front desk and sends me off with a cheerful “Have a wonderful day!”
I’m being treated for osteoarthritis in my ankle and foot, and I’m currently undergoing focused shockwave therapy — four sessions in total. After just two treatments, I’ve already noticed amazing results: I felt immediate pain relief, and my mobility has improved more than I could have hoped.
This entire team truly deserves not just five stars, but ten!
I highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective, compassionate care.

Dr. Bowen saved me from hip replacements and a back surgery. Although I initially contacted NJ Regenerative Institute for platelet-rich plasma treatments, after Dr. Bowen examined me, he recommended starting with oxygen/ozone therapy for my back, advancing to PRP if needed. I am happy to report that the oxygen/ozone (prolozone) treatment worked! The effect was immediate -- no lower back pain after the treatments -- and has held over these past six weeks. Further, the treatments have eased the periodic pain in my hips. Dr. Bowen is a caring, knowledgeable physician, with keen diagnostic skills and an uncanny ability to correctly pinpoint causes of pain, then offer solutions that work. I strongly recommend him and NJRI for any pain management need one may have.
Update: I recently encountered severe pain from my hips to my knees, particularly noticeable during and following Pilates classes. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Bowen, who quickly diagnosed my problems as gluteal tendonitis and iliotibial band syndrome. He suggested shockwave treatments to clear up the problem. Four sessions, one week apart and I am 98% better. I can walk without hobbling and do not have the feeling of my legs giving out, as I did before treatment. Once again, Dr. Bowen has given back to me pain-free mobility. He is a caring professional and a true healer.

After being told by four surgeons that I needed invasive low back surgery and trying three failed steroid epidurals, I discovered Dr. Bowen's practice, NJ Regenerative Institute. Dr. Bowen performed my procedure with Rachel and Matt assisting. I felt comfortable and confident that I was receiving the best care possible. Dr. Bowen was aware that I was nervous and applied patience and a gentle hand as he identified the exact pain points. After the procedure there was some soreness in my low back which 500mg of Tylenol/day, for a few days provided adequate relief. My back is pain free without surgery which I am eternally grateful to Dr. Bowen and his team of expert clinicians. Thank you NJ Regenerative Institute!
Excellent service and treatment! I am feeling brand new after my MFAT shot! In April 2024, Dr. Bowen evaluated my situation. I was suffering from excruciating pain on my right shoulder due to a rotator cuff tear. I was not able to sleep from pain. I spend 5 months following standard methods, chiropractor treatments, cortisone shots by an orthopedist, physical therapy, and finally an MRI to figure out that there was tear. I saw 3 different orthopedists and they all confirmed that the only option would be a rotator cuff surgery. They said tendons would not grow. They said that there would be no healing without surgery. After 5 months of sleepless nights, time spent at the physical therapists which made my condition much worse and unbearable, diminished my productivity at work and wasted MY valuable irreversible TIME, I decided to give a shot to NJ Regenerative institute for PRP shots. Dr. Bowen performed ultrasound, reviewed my MRI, and examined me. He suggested MFAT injection would be the best option. I had the MFAT injection in mid April. MFAT injection was very simple, did not take more than 1.5 hours, it is a local anesthesia, and does not cause much pain at all. First 3 nights were difficult because I am side sleeper so I slept on the recliner chair lying flat. He called me in the second morning to check up on me. Straight up he gave me all the answers for the questions I had inline to ask him. He was right on with all his estimates of the healing process. I took only 3 days off from work Friday, Sat. Sun. When I was back to work, I was fully functioning without pain. In the beginning of the second week, I was back to my gardening. I followed his recommended exercises. I even swam a bit in the summer months. Starting from November, I am back to whitewater kayaking and dancing. I feel better than ever. I cannot thank him and his team enough. It was a pricy procedure though. I wish insurance had covered it or a portion of it. I am so upset about wasting 5 months of unnecessary time and productivity loss at work because of insurance requirements; 1.5 month of physical therapy and then MRI clearance. I wish I had learned about alternative options to eliminate my suffering earlier. I highly recommend Dr. Bowen. He is brilliant, wonderful with his hands, and his humorous personality.... may heal you right there that way too :) His team is excellent. He gives opportunity to new generation doctors to interview patients and observe the procedure. They are as passionate as he is about the work they do. I waited 8 months before I wrote this review to see if there would be a fall out from my healing process or if anything would have downturn but nope.. everyday is fine. I feel awesome. I highly recommend Dr. Bowen and NJ Regenerative Institute. Give them a shot and let them give you a shot. Good luck with your decision and your healing process.

Dr. Bowen is a true expert in the field of regenerative medicine. He's been treating my diagnosis (severe tricompartmental osteoarthritis of the knee). I'm still relatively young and active at 46yrs old and did want a knee replacement after many prior surgeries. I've meet with him on approx. half a dozen appointments. The main one was for adipose/fat tissue therapy which helped me to return working full time again. If you have any degenerative joint related issues, Dr. Bowen's practice is highly recommended. He has excellent bedside manner, reviews each treatment option's pros & cons, and can offer effective treatments you will not find at most orthopedic practices, such as prolozone and various stem cell therapies. I'm thankful for Dr. Bowen's care, treatment, and support. Also, his partner, Dr. Agesen is a gem too- both responsive and helpful during on-call hours to assist me post-treatment and their entire staff is courteous and professional. Thank you!
