Pennsylvania
If you are searching for a chelation doctor in Pennsylvania, the honest starting point is that supply is uneven across the state. The Philadelphia metro and the Pittsburgh region carry most of the integrative, naturopathic and wellness-infusion providers who advertise chelation, with the Lehigh Valley and the Harrisburg area offering a smaller number of additional options. Much of central Pennsylvania, the northern tier and large parts of the northwest and northeast outside Scranton and Wilkes-Barre have little or none. If you live in one of those less-served regions, expect to travel toward Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, or to look across a nearby state line, and plan for more than one visit since assessment, infusions and follow-up are rarely a single appointment.
Pennsylvania does not have a chelation-specific statute; the rules that apply are the general ones that govern prescribing and supervision for any clinician's license type. Chelating agents are prescription drugs, so a person with prescribing authority has to order them regardless of whether the setting is a physician's office, a hospital-based infusion suite or a wellness clinic. The setting's branding does not tell you who is actually prescribing, administering or monitoring the infusion, so ask directly.
To verify a provider, use the state's professional licensing search run by the Department of State, which lists physicians and physician assistants under the State Board of Medicine, osteopathic physicians under the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine, and nurses under the State Board of Nursing. A clean license check confirms standing and any disciplinary history; it does not confirm that chelation is appropriate for you.
Before booking anywhere in the state, ask who is supervising treatment and what their license covers, what drug is being used and where it comes from, what the written risk disclosure says, and what happens if treatment does not produce the result you hoped for. Ask for a quote that separates consultation, medication, administration, lab work and follow-up.
Organic order on this list is not sold, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means a clinic completed credential checks, not that it paid for placement. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and a listing here is not an endorsement.
The national chelation therapy hub covers how the treatment works and what the evidence supports. For more on how this directory works, read How to read a Regenerated city hub and Featured vs Verified vs organic.
Regulatory context
The FDA has approved a narrow set of chelating agents for specific heavy metal toxicities. Calcium disodium edetate (CaNa2EDTA, Versenate) is approved for symptomatic lead poisoning, succimer (Chemet, DMSA) for pediatric lead poisoning at blood lead levels above 45 mcg/dL, deferoxamine (Desferal) and deferasirox (Exjade) for chronic iron overload, and dimercaprol (BAL) for arsenic, gold, and acute lead poisoning. Use of EDTA chelation for cardiovascular disease was studied in the NIH-funded TACT trial (2013) with controversial findings and remains not FDA-approved for that indication. Chelation for autism spectrum disorder is not evidence-based and has been linked to pediatric deaths. The FDA issued a 2010 sweep of warning letters to compounders marketing OTC chelation products with unapproved disease claims.
Pennsylvania is the location of the 2005 Pittsburgh pediatric chelation death, in which a five-year-old autistic boy died after receiving Na2EDTA (the wrong EDTA salt) instead of CaNa2EDTA. This case shaped national board guidance on chelation safety and pediatric protocols. The Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine has investigated chelation practitioners for marketing claims tied to autism and cardiovascular disease. Pennsylvania does not license NDs. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh have moderate integrative medicine communities.
