Biofeedback Therapy clinics in Denver
Denver clinics offering biofeedback therapy tend to cluster where psychology, integrative medicine and physical therapy practices already concentrate: the Cherry Creek area, the Denver Tech Center corridor in Greenwood Village and Centennial along I-25, and the Lowry and Capitol Hill neighborhoods closer to downtown. Suburban options extend west into Lakewood and east into Aurora, and patients along the US-36 corridor sometimes find it easier to book toward Boulder instead. Before you commit to a drive across town, confirm which specific method a practice uses, since biofeedback covers several distinct approaches, from heart rate variability and muscle tension training to neurofeedback based on brain activity.
Locally, biofeedback therapy is usually delivered in a counseling office, a physical therapy clinic or an integrative health practice rather than a hospital setting. A clinician or trained technician attaches sensors and walks you through an initial assessment before any training begins, and a first visit in the Denver area typically focuses on establishing a baseline and explaining the equipment rather than producing immediate results. Follow up visits build on that baseline, though no page here will state how many sessions a given condition requires.
Before booking with any Denver biofeedback therapy provider, ask who will supervise your sessions and what license or certification backs their training, what equipment is being used and whether it is FDA cleared for the stated purpose, how risks and realistic expectations are disclosed in writing, and what happens if your symptoms do not improve. Ask for a written quote that separates the initial assessment, individual training sessions and any equipment you might take home.
How this list is ordered matters too. Organic order on this page is not for sale, Featured slots are clearly labeled and limited in number, and a Verified badge reflects credential checks rather than advertising spend. Regenerated.com is free for patients to browse and contact a clinic, and appearing in this directory is not an endorsement of any provider's methods. For the mechanism behind biofeedback and what the research says about specific conditions, see the national biofeedback therapy hub. Regulatory context
A note on Colorado's biofeedback therapy rules.
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is regulated as a Class II prescription device. The first 510(k) clearance went to NeuroStar in 2008 for treatment-resistant major depressive disorder. Subsequent clearances expanded the on-label scope to obsessive-compulsive disorder (BrainsWay deep TMS, 2018), smoking cessation (BrainsWay, 2020), anxious depression as an adjunct indication (2021), and migraine via single-pulse TMS devices such as eNeura SpringTMS and SAVI Dual. Biofeedback instruments are cleared under 21 CFR 882.1425 as Class II devices for relaxation training and stress reduction. EEG-based neurofeedback systems hold 510(k) clearances in the same category. Cranial electrotherapy stimulation, tDCS wellness devices, and many vagus nerve stimulation accessories sold direct to consumers are not cleared as medical devices, and clinical claims beyond cleared indications are off-label.
-
Colorado Medical Practice Act (C.R.S. 12-240-101 et seq.)
Defines the practice of medicine and supervision framework for delegated procedures including TMS technician work. -
Colorado Mental Health Practice Act (C.R.S. 12-245-101 et seq.)
Governs psychologists, LPCs, and LMFTs who commonly deliver biofeedback and neurofeedback within scope.
The Colorado Medical Board investigates TMS clinics for off-label marketing and supervision deficiencies. The state attorney general has pursued Colorado Consumer Protection Act actions against neurofeedback clinics that advertised cures for autism or learning disabilities. Colorado has a growing integrative and wellness sector where CES, tDCS, and vagus nerve stimulation devices are offered, drawing board scrutiny when marketing implies disease treatment. Insurers follow FDA-cleared indications and typically require documented treatment-resistant depression before covering TMS.
