Red Light Therapy clinics in Ohio
If you are looking for advanced red light therapy in Ohio, read this list by setting and supervision rather than by anyone's claim to be the best. This page shows 41 listed providers across the state, and supply follows population: Columbus, Cleveland and Cincinnati carry most of it, with smaller clusters around Dayton, Akron, Toledo, Canton and Youngstown. Appalachian southeast Ohio and much of the rural northwest have few or no listings, so patients there should expect a long drive to the nearest metro. Near the borders, people in the Cincinnati area often compare providers in Northern Kentucky, and people near Toledo or Youngstown sometimes look across into Michigan or Pennsylvania.
Red light therapy in Ohio is delivered in wellness studios, medical spas, chiropractic and physical therapy offices, and some dermatology practices. We are not aware of an Ohio licence specific to this treatment: the device rules are federal, and who may use a device for a medical purpose depends on each profession's scope of practice, which the state regulation block on this page and the relevant board can confirm. In practice, "advanced" should mean a clinician assessment, a device cleared for your specific use and a plan with a review point, not simply a larger panel or bed.
To verify a provider, use the online lookups of the State Medical Board of Ohio for physicians and physician assistants, the Ohio Board of Nursing for nurses, and the state boards for chiropractors, physical therapists and estheticians where they apply. A lookup confirms an active licence and may show public discipline. It will not tell you whether someone is trained on a particular device or whether the treatment suits you.
Before booking anywhere in the state, ask who operates the device and who supervises them, which device and wavelengths are used and what it is cleared for, how risks and eye protection are explained in writing, what happens if it does not help, and what a quote itemizes. Most visits are cash pay, and evidence for broad wellness claims is thin.
Listing order is not paid ranking, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means credential checks, not spend. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion is not an endorsement. Regulatory context
A note on Ohio's red light therapy rules.
The "other" category is a catchall for regenerative wellness modalities with inconsistent federal oversight. Red light therapy devices (photobiomodulation) have narrow FDA 510(k) clearances for acne, muscle pain, and wound healing, not systemic regeneration. Whole-body cryotherapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical indication and received an FDA safety communication in July 2016 warning of asphyxiation, frostbite, and burn risks. Ozone therapy is NOT FDA-approved for any medical use and the FDA has stated ozone is a toxic gas with no known useful medical application. Condition-specific regenerative offerings (hair restoration with minoxidil or finasteride, ED care beyond PDE5 inhibitors and shockwave) have varying approval depending on route and drug source.
-
Ohio Medical Practice Act (Ohio Rev. Code Ch. 4731)
Defines practice of medicine and delegation rules for wellness settings. -
Ohio State Medical Board Rules (OAC 4731)
Governs physician oversight of injectables, lasers, and device-based procedures.
The Ohio State Medical Board investigates unlicensed practice and scope violations at wellness clinics. Ozone and chelation clinics making disease-treatment claims risk board action. The Attorney General pursues deceptive health claims under the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act. Enforcement is moderate and complaint-driven, with attention to the Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati markets.
