Stem Cell Therapy clinics in the United States
This is the national page for stem cell therapy on Regenerated.com, listing clinics across the United States that record the treatment. Stem cell therapy, also called cell therapy, cellular regeneration or regenerative cell treatment, means placing living cells into the body with the aim of repairing or calming damaged tissue. Outpatient clinics most often use mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs, also called mesenchymal stromal cells) taken from the patient's own bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) or fat (adipose derived cells), or donor material from umbilical cord or placental tissue. The cells are injected into a joint, tendon or spine region under ultrasound or fluoroscopic guidance, or given by IV infusion. Orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, interventional pain specialists and physiatrists deliver most joint work, and patients usually compare it with platelet rich plasma (PRP), prolotherapy, hyaluronic acid injections, steroid injections and joint replacement.
The evidence picture is uneven, and it helps to say it plainly. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, done in hospital programs for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and some immune disorders, is established medicine, and the FDA has licensed a small number of cord blood and cell products for specific blood and transplant conditions. Most cash pay uses, such as knee osteoarthritis, back pain, autoimmune disease, neurological conditions and anti aging, are investigational. The FDA regulates these products as human cells and tissues, has issued repeated consumer warnings about unapproved stem cell products, and has not approved any for orthopedic or wellness use. Small trials of bone marrow and adipose injections for knee arthritis show mixed results, and larger controlled studies are still running.
Candidates are generally adults with a clear diagnosis, imaging that matches their symptoms, and conservative care such as physical therapy and medication already tried. People with active cancer, an active infection, a bleeding disorder, pregnancy, or advanced joint collapse where replacement is the standard option are usually told to wait or look elsewhere. Anyone offered cells for a serious disease outside a registered clinical trial should get a second opinion from their specialist first.
Supply runs from hospital transplant and research programs, through orthopedic and pain practices, to stand alone regenerative and wellness clinics. A widely cited analysis by bioethicist Leigh Turner and stem cell biologist Paul Knoepfler in the journal Cell Stem Cell found direct to consumer stem cell businesses clustered in states such as California, Florida, Texas, Arizona and Colorado, and that pattern still shows in listings. Many patients travel to another state for care, so it is worth planning for follow up close to home.
Before booking anywhere, ask who performs the procedure and who supervises it, and check that physician's license and board certification. Ask exactly what is administered: the cell source, whether it comes from you or a donor, how it is processed, and whether it is used under an FDA approved trial or as a tissue product. Ask for written disclosure of risks, including infection, pain flare and the chance of no benefit, and for a quote that itemizes harvest, processing, imaging guidance and follow up visits. Ask what happens if symptoms worsen and who you call.
This national list is not for sale. Organic order is never paid ranking, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means the clinic completed credential checks, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement. Use the state hubs below the list to build a shortlist closer to you.
