Oregon
Ketamine therapy in Oregon is concentrated in the Portland metro area, home to most of the state's infusion suites and psychiatric practices offering ketamine treatment. Eugene, Salem, and Bend also have providers, giving the Willamette Valley and central Oregon regional options. Coverage thins along the coast and in rural eastern Oregon, where reaching a clinic for ketamine infusions or nasal esketamine can mean a long drive, sometimes across the state line. Confirm the nearest suitable service and plan for travel and follow-up before committing.
Ketamine therapy for depression is typically delivered in a physician's office or a monitored infusion setting, and Oregon has no distinctive local rule beyond the general federal and professional standards for off-label prescribing. Physicians and physician assistants may prescribe and oversee treatment within their scope of practice, and nurses or nurse practitioners may administer or monitor it under appropriate supervision. Nasal esketamine follows a separate federal distribution and in-office monitoring requirement that differs from compounded ketamine. Ask which formulation a provider uses and how supervision works.
Verify a provider in Oregon by checking physicians and physician assistants through the Oregon Medical Board, and nurses and nurse practitioners through the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Both maintain public license lookups showing current status and disciplinary history. A clean record confirms someone may legally practice; it does not confirm ketamine-specific experience or predict outcomes.
Before booking anywhere in the state, ask who evaluates you, who supervises the session, exactly which ketamine formulation is used and where it comes from, and how risks are disclosed in writing. Ask what happens if treatment does not help. Request an itemized written quote covering evaluation, medication, monitoring, any accompanying psychotherapy, and follow-up, so you can compare clinics on the same terms.
This listing orders Oregon clinics without selling organic placement. Featured slots are labeled and capped, and a Verified label means a clinic completed credential checks, not that it paid for visibility. Using Regenerated.com costs patients nothing, and being listed here is not an endorsement of any clinic's results.
The national ketamine therapy hub covers the mechanism and the current evidence, including how ketamine differs from esketamine. For how to read this list, see How to read a Regenerated city hub and Featured vs Verified vs organic.
Regulatory context
Ketamine is a DEA Schedule III controlled substance, FDA-approved as a dissociative anesthetic and used off-label for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. The FDA approved esketamine (Spravato) in 2019 for treatment-resistant depression under a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program that requires in-office administration at certified sites. MDMA-assisted therapy remains Schedule I; the FDA issued a Complete Response Letter in August 2024 to Lykos Therapeutics on its MDMA new drug application. Psilocybin is Schedule I and holds FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation through sponsors such as Compass Pathways and Usona, but has not received FDA approval. Oregon Measure 109 (passed 2020, operational 2023) created a state psilocybin service center framework, and Colorado Proposition 122 (2022) authorized regulated healing centers.
Oregon Psilocybin Services centers have been operational since 2023, with facilitators and service centers licensed statewide. The Oregon Health Authority Psilocybin Services Section oversees licensure, product testing, facilitator training, and facility standards. Federal psilocybin Schedule I status remains unchanged, but DEA has not brought enforcement actions against Measure 109-compliant operations to date. The Oregon Medical Board regulates ketamine prescribing.
