This is the national page for red light therapy on Regenerated.com, listing clinics across the United States that record the treatment. Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation or PBM, low level light therapy or LLLT, and sometimes cold laser therapy, shines visible red and invisible near infrared light onto the skin from LED panels, full body beds, handheld devices or low power lasers. Sessions are delivered by dermatologists, physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, licensed estheticians and trained wellness staff, depending on the setting and the reason for treatment. People often compare it with infrared sauna, PEMF therapy, cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, microneedling and laser resurfacing, which work by different mechanisms.
The proposed mechanism is that red and near infrared light is absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, shifting cellular energy production and signaling, an idea developed in the research of Tiina Karu and Michael Hamblin. The evidence picture is uneven, and it is worth saying plainly. Photobiomodulation is supported by clinical guidelines for helping prevent oral mucositis in some people receiving cancer treatment, and the FDA has cleared specific low level light devices for uses such as hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, and some acne and wrinkle indications. Clearance applies to a particular device and indication, not to red light therapy in general. Uses such as athletic recovery, fat loss, thyroid support, mood, sleep, cognition and general bio-optimization rest on small, mixed or early studies, and results vary with the wavelength, dose and device.
A typical candidate is an adult with a skin, hair or musculoskeletal goal who has a diagnosis where one is needed and understands that evidence differs by use. People who are pregnant, who have active cancer over the treatment area, who take light sensitizing medicines, or who have lupus, porphyria or a seizure disorder triggered by light are usually told to wait or check with their own physician first. Eye protection matters with bright panels and lasers, and unexplained pain or a changing skin spot deserves a medical diagnosis before any light treatment.
Supply is broad and spread across many kinds of settings. Red light therapy is offered in dermatology and medical spa practices, chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, sports medicine and recovery centers that pair it with infrared sauna, PEMF and cold plunges, stand alone wellness studios with full body beds, and integrative and longevity practices that fold it into a wider routine. Listings tend to be densest in large metros, including the Los Angeles area, South Florida, Texas cities such as Dallas, Houston and Austin, Phoenix and Scottsdale, the Denver area, New York and Chicago. Because home devices are common, many people use a clinic for supervised sessions or an assessment and travel only when a specific program is not offered near them.
Before booking anywhere, ask who delivers the treatment and whether a licensed clinician oversees it when the goal is medical. Ask exactly which device is used, which wavelengths and dose it delivers, whether it is FDA cleared for your indication, and what eye protection is provided. Ask for written disclosure of risks such as burns, eye strain, headaches and interactions with light sensitizing medicines. A clear quote itemizes single sessions, packages, memberships and add ons, and a good provider explains how progress is reviewed and when to stop.
This national list is not for sale. Organic order is never paid ranking, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means the clinic completed credential checks, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement. Use the state hubs below the list to build a shortlist of red light therapy providers closer to you.
