Red Light Therapy clinics in the United States

This is the national page for red light therapy on Regenerated.com, listing clinics across the United States that record the treatment. Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation or PBM, low level light therapy or LLLT, and sometimes cold laser therapy, shines visible red and invisible near infrared light onto the skin from LED panels, full body beds, handheld devices or low power lasers. Sessions are delivered by dermatologists, physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, licensed estheticians and trained wellness staff, depending on the setting and the reason for treatment. People often compare it with infrared sauna, PEMF therapy, cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, microneedling and laser resurfacing, which work by different mechanisms.

The proposed mechanism is that red and near infrared light is absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, shifting cellular energy production and signaling, an idea developed in the research of Tiina Karu and Michael Hamblin. The evidence picture is uneven, and it is worth saying plainly. Photobiomodulation is supported by clinical guidelines for helping prevent oral mucositis in some people receiving cancer treatment, and the FDA has cleared specific low level light devices for uses such as hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, and some acne and wrinkle indications. Clearance applies to a particular device and indication, not to red light therapy in general. Uses such as athletic recovery, fat loss, thyroid support, mood, sleep, cognition and general bio-optimization rest on small, mixed or early studies, and results vary with the wavelength, dose and device.

A typical candidate is an adult with a skin, hair or musculoskeletal goal who has a diagnosis where one is needed and understands that evidence differs by use. People who are pregnant, who have active cancer over the treatment area, who take light sensitizing medicines, or who have lupus, porphyria or a seizure disorder triggered by light are usually told to wait or check with their own physician first. Eye protection matters with bright panels and lasers, and unexplained pain or a changing skin spot deserves a medical diagnosis before any light treatment.

Supply is broad and spread across many kinds of settings. Red light therapy is offered in dermatology and medical spa practices, chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, sports medicine and recovery centers that pair it with infrared sauna, PEMF and cold plunges, stand alone wellness studios with full body beds, and integrative and longevity practices that fold it into a wider routine. Listings tend to be densest in large metros, including the Los Angeles area, South Florida, Texas cities such as Dallas, Houston and Austin, Phoenix and Scottsdale, the Denver area, New York and Chicago. Because home devices are common, many people use a clinic for supervised sessions or an assessment and travel only when a specific program is not offered near them.

Before booking anywhere, ask who delivers the treatment and whether a licensed clinician oversees it when the goal is medical. Ask exactly which device is used, which wavelengths and dose it delivers, whether it is FDA cleared for your indication, and what eye protection is provided. Ask for written disclosure of risks such as burns, eye strain, headaches and interactions with light sensitizing medicines. A clear quote itemizes single sessions, packages, memberships and add ons, and a good provider explains how progress is reviewed and when to stop.

This national list is not for sale. Organic order is never paid ranking, Featured slots are labeled and capped, and Verified means the clinic completed credential checks, not that it spent money. Regenerated.com is free for patients, and inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement. Use the state hubs below the list to build a shortlist of red light therapy providers closer to you.

Red Light Therapy in the United States, answered.

Red light therapy, also called photobiomodulation or low level light therapy, exposes the skin to red and near infrared light from LED panels, beds, handheld devices or low power lasers. The light is not hot enough to burn when used correctly. Researchers propose that mitochondria absorb it through cytochrome c oxidase, which shifts cellular energy production and signaling. Near infrared light reaches deeper tissue than visible red light, so devices differ in what they are suited for.

Red light therapy has its strongest support for helping prevent oral mucositis during some cancer treatments, and specific devices are FDA cleared for hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia, temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, and some acne and wrinkle uses. Clearance covers a named device and indication, not the treatment in general. Recovery, fat loss, mood, sleep, cognition and longevity uses rest on small or mixed studies, so treat those as investigational.

A clinic offering advanced red light therapy should name its device, explain the wavelengths and dose it delivers, and tell you whether the device is cleared for your goal. Look for a licensed clinician who assesses you first, written screening for light sensitivity and medications, eye protection, and a plan for reviewing progress. No directory can crown one provider above the rest, and this page does not rank clinics by quality, so compare these points across the state hubs.

Red light therapy is commonly part of bio-optimization routines at integrative and longevity practices, recovery centers and wellness studios, which often pair it with infrared sauna, PEMF therapy, cold plunges and IV therapy. This national page lists clinics across the United States that record the treatment, and the state hubs below the list narrow it by location. Evidence for general optimization is early, so ask each provider what they expect it to do for you and why.

Infrared therapy for recovery and bio-optimization is commonly offered in sports medicine and recovery centers, chiropractic and physical therapy clinics, gyms with recovery suites, medical spas and longevity practices. Some deliver near infrared light from panels or beds, while infrared saunas mainly heat the body, which is a different treatment. Profiles on this page show which treatments each clinic records. Confirm which form of infrared therapy a provider uses before you book.

Full body red light therapy combined with PEMF, or pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, is offered by many recovery centers and wellness studios, either as back to back sessions or on combined beds and mats. Research on the combination is limited, and each part has its own evidence base and FDA status. Ask whether the devices are cleared for any indication, how sessions are supervised, and whether pregnancy, implanted electronic devices or light sensitivity rule you out.

People who should avoid red light therapy, or check with their own physician first, include those who are pregnant, have active cancer or a suspicious skin lesion over the treatment area, take light sensitizing medicines, or have lupus, porphyria or light triggered seizures. Anyone with eye disease should ask about eye protection before using bright panels. A responsible provider asks about these conditions in writing and declines treatment when one applies.

The cost of red light therapy is driven by the device type, whether sessions are full body or targeted, clinician involvement, add ons such as PEMF or sauna, local rents and package or membership terms. Insurance rarely covers it outside a few medical uses. This page publishes no averages because providers bundle services differently and change prices often. Ask each red light therapy provider for a written, itemized quote and the full cancellation terms.
