Ketamine Therapy clinics in Los Angeles

If you searched for ketamine therapy for anxiety in Los Angeles, clinics offering it are spread across several distinct pockets rather than one medical district, so check an address before you book. Treatment settings concentrate around Beverly Hills and the Wilshire corridor, in Brentwood and Westwood near the UCLA medical area, and through Santa Monica, West LA, and Century City. In the San Fernando Valley, Sherman Oaks and Studio City host a separate cluster along Ventura Boulevard, while Pasadena serves the east side independently of downtown. Commuting between these areas usually means the 405, the 10, the 101, or the 134, so plan extra time and arrange a ride home.

Ketamine for anxiety or depression is typically delivered as an intravenous infusion or, less often, as sublingual or nasal medication, in a physician office or a dedicated infusion suite with clinical staff monitoring you throughout. A first visit should include a psychiatric and medical history, a review of current medications, and a clear explanation of what the session will involve. Follow-up visits are spaced based on your response, not a fixed schedule, and no legitimate clinic should promise a specific number of sessions before assessing you. Treating anxiety on its own, apart from depression, is an off-label use with a thinner evidence base, so a Los Angeles clinic should say in writing that this is the case and explain how it screens and monitors patients being treated primarily for anxiety.

Before booking, ask who prescribes and administers the ketamine, what form and source the medication is, and how the clinic discloses risks in writing. Ask what happens if symptoms do not improve, how progress is measured, and whether a written quote separates assessment, medication, administration, and monitoring. If anxiety alone, not depression, is your main reason for inquiring, ask specifically how screening and monitoring differ, since evidence for anxiety alone is thinner.

Listing order on this page is not paid ranking, Featured placements are labeled and capped, and a Verified badge reflects credential checks rather than advertising spend. Regenerated.com is free for patients to use, and appearing in this directory is not an endorsement of any clinic or claim.

Regulatory context

A note on California's ketamine therapy rules.

Ketamine is a DEA Schedule III controlled substance, FDA-approved as a dissociative anesthetic and used off-label for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. The FDA approved esketamine (Spravato) in 2019 for treatment-resistant depression under a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) program that requires in-office administration at certified sites. MDMA-assisted therapy remains Schedule I; the FDA issued a Complete Response Letter in August 2024 to Lykos Therapeutics on its MDMA new drug application. Psilocybin is Schedule I and holds FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation through sponsors such as Compass Pathways and Usona, but has not received FDA approval. Oregon Measure 109 (passed 2020, operational 2023) created a state psilocybin service center framework, and Colorado Proposition 122 (2022) authorized regulated healing centers.

  • SB 803 (2023, vetoed) and SB 1012 (2024, stalled)
Proposed regulated therapeutic access to psilocybin, MDMA, mescaline, and DMT; Governor Newsom vetoed SB 58 (2023) citing lack of treatment guidelines.
  • Local decriminalization resolutions
Oakland (2019), Santa Cruz (2020), Arcata, San Francisco, and Berkeley have passed non-binding resolutions deprioritizing enforcement of natural psychedelics; no legal therapeutic framework.

California enforces federal DEA scheduling. The Medical Board of California investigates prescriber misconduct, including ketamine diversion and inadequate patient monitoring. Several high-profile California ketamine-related deaths (including Matthew Perry's 2023 overdose) have intensified board scrutiny of clinic practices. DEA enforcement targets compounding, diversion, and Ryan Haight Act telehealth compliance.

Ketamine Therapy in Los Angeles, answered.

Ketamine therapy uses low, controlled doses of ketamine, usually by IV infusion or sometimes sublingually or nasally, under clinical supervision to treat certain mental health conditions, most often depression that has not responded to standard treatment. Off-label use for anxiety and other conditions is common in Los Angeles but less studied. It is not a stimulant or a standard antidepressant, and effects are monitored closely during and after each session.

Adults with depression or anxiety that has not improved enough with standard care are the typical candidates, following a full psychiatric and medical assessment. Uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain heart conditions, active psychosis, pregnancy, or untreated substance use disorders often lead a Los Angeles provider to recommend postponing treatment or pursuing a different approach. Be open about your full medical history during screening.

Coverage varies by plan and by what is being billed. Intravenous ketamine for depression or anxiety is commonly cash pay, while a psychiatric evaluation, standard esketamine, or integrated psychotherapy may be reimbursable depending on your insurer and network. Ask for a written quote that itemizes assessment, medication, administration, monitoring, and follow-up, and confirm coverage directly with your insurer before scheduling anything.

Short-term effects can include dissociation, dizziness, nausea, elevated blood pressure, and changes in perception during the infusion, which is why monitoring continues through recovery. Less common risks include bladder irritation with repeated use and, rarely, more serious cardiovascular or psychological reactions. A Los Angeles provider should review these risks in writing before your first session and explain how they are managed if they occur.

There is no fixed schedule that applies to everyone. A typical course starts with an initial assessment, followed by an infusion in a monitored setting, then a follow-up review of your response before any further sessions are planned. Spacing and total number of visits depend on how you respond and tolerate treatment, not a preset package, so be cautious of any clinic that quotes a session count before evaluating you.

Look for a licensed physician, psychiatric nurse practitioner, or anesthesiologist overseeing prescribing and administration, with clinical staff trained in monitoring and emergency response present during infusions. You can verify a California medical license through the Medical Board of California's license lookup. Ask directly who supervises each session and who is reachable if you have concerns afterward.

A plain search mixes paid ads, directory listings, and clinic marketing with no consistent standard behind any of it. This page applies the same credential checks to every Verified clinic, labels and caps Featured placements instead of letting anyone buy a top spot, and keeps organic order unpaid. It is meant as a starting point for comparison, not a ranking of quality or outcomes.

Organic placement is not sold and is not influenced by advertising. Featured slots are clearly labeled and limited in number so they cannot crowd out the rest of the list. Verified means a clinic has passed credential checks, not that it paid for the badge. None of these labels say anything about results, and inclusion on this page does not amount to an endorsement.
