Last summer I accompanied my husband on a work trip to San Diego and visited Carol, who is a dear friend since childhood. In a conversation, my husband’s back pain came up. He’s been struggling daily from lower back and neck pain from 4 collapsed discs from being rear ended 3 times starting 18 years ago. He’s been to ortho, pain management, etc for years, all with temporary bandaids. He was told he was too young for surgery and to come back when he was closer to 50. In the meantime it has consumed his life and it has a significant impact on me and our 4 kids. He just turned 40, but if we could try something safer and more effective, we were willing to try it. Carol said she was confident she had some treatments that could help him long-term. She was able to schedule him with Dr. Meng for the next morning before we headed home the following day. After the treatments he had some temporary discomfort for a couple days, but nothing compared to 18 years of suffering. Within a week he could tell a difference. As more time went on it just kept getting better. He used to have a lot of nerve pain shooting down to his fingers from the compressed discs in his neck, and I haven’t heard him complain about that in the 6 months since his treatment. He doesn’t need to take anything to sleep through pain, or complain of pain when he wakes up or sneezes or bends over wrong. Day to day he doesn’t have to use any kind of pain medicine or herbs anymore! This is incredible as he’s had to use something daily for almost 2 decades. He still has some pain and muscle spasms when he overdoes it with a work project that requires a lot of strength or bending. The improvement overall has been WELL worth the investment. He’s working on losing weight and strengthening his core and back to improve those flares even more. We would do it over again in a heartbeat. Joy Wellness.. WOW!!! Joy Wellness is truly the best place for alternative medicine—I've found no other like it. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. Mairead Masuda is absolutely incredible; after just my second appointment and the valuable information she shared, I already felt healthier and more connected to my body than ever before. I can't recommend Joy Wellness Partners highly enough. I have been coming here for years, and they have been truly life saving. Whenever I need medical care that my insurance won't provide, JWP always takes care of me. If you want to be treated like a human being, a whole interconnected system, rather than broken down into separate pieces, this is the place to go. The staff at Joy Wellness know how to look at the big picture and have an integrative approach to medicine. I've never met a more caring, motivated, intelligent, and competent team of medical professionals. Truly the best. I started coming here to receive biweekly infusions after receiving a fecal microbial transplant. I had a severe allergic reaction to the transplant that was preventing it from successfully taking hold. Thanks to the care I received from JWP, my transplant was successful and I recovered from a life threatening infection. The IV nurses at JWP are the most caring and qualified nurses I've ever worked with. I have notoriously horrendous veins, and frequently have traumatic IV experiences. Never at Joy Wellness. They always treat me with the utmost compassion and respect. Amber is amazing. I know when I see her that I'm going to have a great experience and leave feeling better than when I arrived. I receive biologic infusions through my regular medical insurance that I am severely allergic to, and I require certain premeds to be able to receive that iv medication. When my regular medical team is unable to provide my premeds, I'm always able to come to JWP to get what I need prior to my biologic infusions. Recently, I stopped tolerating that medication even with premeds, but I still have to take it. When my regular medical team was unable to treat the drug reaction, JWP was able to successfully manage my symptoms through IVs, peptide injections, and herbal histamine medications. In treating that drug reaction, they also successfully treated lifelong, chronic allergies that 8 combined prescriptions could not control. For the last few years, I've gone to my regular doctors with extreme symptoms that are routinely minimized and ignored. I recently did my female hormone panel with JWP in an attempt to identify what's causing the symptoms. Martina reviewed my results with me and helped me understand how they relate to my current symptoms. The same day she got me started on hormone replacement therapy. I feel like a new woman. Despite the fact that I've only been on the new regimen for one week, I've already seen amazing improvements in my symptoms...symptoms my regular doctors expected me to just tolerate. When I have to choose between urgent care, ER, and Joy Wellness, even my husband chooses to send me to Joy Wellness every time because we know this is where I get real care. This is where I heal.
